
Software Development Engineer in Test Intern - Undergraduate

We’re seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test Intern to expand our testing capabilities and ensure the best possible experience for subscribers across the PlayStation ecosystem. In this role, you’ll work closely with Quality Engineering, Development, Product, and Design teams in a cross-functional environment to support the quality of multi-platform applications and subscription services. You’ll gain hands-on experience in automation, testing frameworks, and agile collaboration while contributing directly to tools and processes used by PlayStation teams worldwide.
What You’ll Do:
As a Software Development Engineer in Test Intern, you will:

Create and execute test cases to verify the quality of new features.

Apply Quality Engineering concepts and methodologies to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Partner with developers to design test plans that support high-quality feature delivery.

Automate tests for applications across the PlayStation ecosystem.

Assist Sr. SDETs in setting up test frameworks and automation infrastructure.

Onboard to existing automation frameworks to understand and extend capabilities.

Report, track, and verify defects, collaborating on solutions.

Review Jenkins jobs for automation, investigate failures, and identify root causes.

Participate in scrum ceremonies as part of an agile development team.

Contribute to and update QE documentation for clarity and accuracy.

What We’re Looking For:

Current enrollment in an accredited university Bachelor’s program in Computer Science or a related field, with graduation expected between December 2026 and Spring 2027.

Exposure to writing scripts in Python, Java, or JavaScript.

Exposure to web front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Interest in working as part of an agile, collaborative, cross-functional team.

Exposure to version control systems (preferably Git).

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Interest in solving challenges in the consumer tech space.
Eligibility:

Students with expected graduation between December 2026 and Spring 2027 from an accredited university. Undergraduate

Able to work during one of the following periods: May 18th - August 7th or June 15th - September 4th. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
Intern Pay Range
$41.50 - $50 USD
