We’re a high-agency, cross-functional engineering team deployed to solve complex problems, unblock delivery, and amplify the success of engineering teams across the PlayStation organization. Think of us as PlayStation’s engineering special ops—fast-moving, adaptable, and always learning.

This is a unique opportunity to work on high-priority projects across multiple domains, technologies, and team cultures. As an intern, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, contribute to real-world systems, and grow your technical and problem-solving skills in an environment that values curiosity, experimentation, and teamwork.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to identify opportunities and deliver impactful solutions

• Build and maintain backend services, developer tooling, and user interfaces that are reliable, testable, and user-friendly

• Participate in code and design reviews to ensure quality and share knowledge across the team

• Support operational needs and assist in resolving real-time issues in systems serving millions of players

• Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies, workflows, and team environments

What You’ll Learn

• Hands-on experience developing and supporting production systems across different technology stacks

• Exposure to agile engineering practices, code review culture, and collaborative problem-solving

• How to build scalable, maintainable services and applications used across PlayStation

• Insights into diverse engineering domains, from backend infrastructure to developer tooling and user-facing applications

• Real-world experience balancing technical excellence, delivery speed, and reliability

What We’re Looking For

• Current enrollment in an accredited university Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, with graduation expected between December 2026 and Spring 2027.

• Cover letter is encouraged.

• Experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Kotlin)

• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and core web development concepts

• Comfortable working in Unix/Linux environments

• Exposure to version control tools (e.g., Git) and project tracking systems

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  

Eligibility

• Students with expected graduation between December 2026 and Spring 2027 from an accredited university. Undergraduate

• Able to work during one of the following periods: May 18th - August 7th or June 15th - September 4th. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

• Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.
