Product Design Lead

New York

We're seeking an experienced Product Design Lead designing complex tools and platforms. You champion the user’s voice and are confident in mapping and optimizing end-to-end journeys through a complex ecosystem of products. You value user research and have a tool kit of research methods and techniques to uncover insights and test design concepts/prototypes. This project will involve a high level of client stakeholder interaction, so clear communication skills are critical.

You’ll be acting as a discipline lead within the project, working alongside a collaborative and talented team to design out a new platform across native and mobile platforms.

Requirements

  • Able to communicate with and understand clients’ business goals, and technical limitations, working within those constraints to unpack the challenge and explore innovative solutions for users and drive value for clients
  • Skilled in identifying and prioritizing the right problems to solve and alignments across teams and clients
  • Adept in both qualitative and quantitative research methods to fill knowledge gaps, quickly translate insights, unearth opportunities, and translate complex requirements into tangible design artifacts.
  • Ability to craft designs that are grounded in user-centric decision making including experience journeys and end-to-end flows.
  • Capable of high-level strategic thinking and conceptual exploration across the product ecosystem, while also detail-oriented enough to be able to get into the weeds of the designs and able to guide your team accordingly.
  • Skilled in crafting compelling interaction models and design solutions through visual expression, design, and prototyping
  • Experienced in leading design within cross-functional teams and able to distill complex information into actionable steps for the team.

Location

This role is based in our Brooklyn studio at 20 Jay Street. We have a hybrid policy: you're required to be in the studio on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and you can choose between studio or remote work for the rest of the week. Able to travel, from time to time.

Why we’re excited about you

  • As a skilled storyteller and proactive communicator, you effectively convey every phase of your design process and tailor your communication to suit different audiences.
  • You thrive in a collaborative working style. You’re skilled in facilitating workshops and design reviews with clients and team members and ensure everyone's perspectives are heard and incorporated.
  • You enjoy working through ambiguity and are able to adapt and guide your team through any difficult or changing client needs.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this full-time role is between $145,000 to $175,000. Actual salary amount within this range will be dependent on the candidate's experience, skillset, market knowledge, and salaries of current employees in similar roles. • Transit and Health FSA programs
  • Citibike membership
  • One Medical and Talkspace Memberships
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave
  • Annual Growth & Development Budget

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
