Entry Level SEO Strategist
About the Opportunity
Do you want to launch your career in SEO while working on one of the largest travel sites in North America?
Vacasa.com, a leading vacation rental marketplace with hundreds of millions in revenue, is seeking an Entry-Level SEO Strategist to join our high-performance team in Franklin, TN. This isn’t your typical corporate role—we operate with the speed and creativity of a startup, and we’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment.
You’ll work side-by-side with a successful entrepreneur and seasoned Internet marketing expert to refine and execute our SEO strategy. If you’re hungry to learn, comfortable getting into the weeds, and ready to make an impact on a massive brand, we want to hear from you.
What you’ll do
As an SEO Strategist, you’ll support and grow our organic traffic footprint through hands-on tactical execution and process development. Responsibilities include:
- Prioritize SEO content initiatives using KOB (Keyword Opposition to Benefit) analysis
- Conduct keyword research using tools such as Ahrefs and Answer The Public
- Update and optimize existing content to improve rankings, traffic, and conversions
- Assist in content briefs and outlines that guide freelance writers and internal content teams
- Recruit and manage freelance writers through platforms like WriterAccess and Upwork
- Use industry-leading tools including Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and more
- Perform on-page audits and technical reviews, flagging and fixing issues related to crawlability, site structure, internal linking, and metadata
- Collaborate closely with content, design, and development teams to implement SEO best practices
- Track performance of SEO efforts using internal reports, Google Analytics, and SEO reporting tools
- Experiment with emerging SEO trends, AI-driven content tools, and growth hacks
- Document and refine SEO processes for scalability and repeatability
What We’re Looking For
We don’t expect you to know everything on day one. We’re looking for someone who is:
- Detail-oriented, data-driven, and curious
- Familiar with the basics of SEO and have used SEO tools before (bonus for those who’ve used Ahrefs, GSC, or Screaming Frog)
- Strong communicator with the ability to write clearly and concisely
- Willing to roll up their sleeves, test ideas, and learn rapidly
- Excited about joining a team with a startup mindset and global impact
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in our Cool Springs (Franklin, TN) office, with a minimum of three in-person days per week. Occasional remote work is possible, but a strong in-person culture and collaboration requirement exists.
You’ll work directly under a senior leader who has built and scaled multiple digital businesses and will invest in your growth. This is a hands-on role where you'll learn advanced SEO frameworks, not just execute checklists.
What you’ll get
- Access to enterprise SEO tools and training
- Work with a nationally recognized brand (Vacasa.com)
- High-growth environment with meaningful mentorship
- Startup energy, real ownership, no corporate red tape
- Health/dental/vision insurance—100% coverage option

A Day in the Life of an Entry-Level SEO Strategist at Vacasa.com
Below is a sample day to show you what working here might look like. Please be aware that every day in our fun and fast-paced environment is a little different and while representative it is not meant to be representative of every day.
9:00 am – 9:30 am
Morning Standup & Goal Alignment
Today you’ll be working from our Cool Springs office in Franklin, TN. The day kicks off with a 30-minute standup meeting with our distributed marketing team. During this sync, we’ll review traffic and revenue performance, align on weekly priorities, and discuss how each team member’s work ladders up to the broader growth goals of Vacasa.com.
9:30 am – 11:00 am
Traffic Drop Analysis & Content Recovery Planning
Using AHREFS, you’ll identify website pages that have experienced significant traffic drops over the past 6–12 months. Once these pages are identified, you’ll help craft a recovery strategy—outlining the user intent, updating titles and meta descriptions, improving internal linking, and creating content briefs. These plans will then be assigned to team members or freelance writers for execution.
11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Geo-Silo Content Strategy with Local Franchise Partner
You’ll collaborate directly with a senior marketing leader to design a localized content strategy (geo-silo) focused on a specific vacation market—like Cape Cod, Destin, or Big Bear Lake. This strategy will be rolled out to a local franchisee who brings on-the-ground expertise. Your work will help them attract more direct bookings and elevate guest experiences in their region.
12:00 pm – 12:30 pm
Lunch & Learn: Content Roundtable
Grab lunch with the local team in the office kitchen or one of Cool Springs’ nearby restaurants. We’ll casually chat through new content formats, brainstorm ways to better capture long-tail intent, and swap SEO tactics over tacos or salad.
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm
AHREFS Deep Dive: Uncovering Opportunities
Back at your desk, you’ll dive deeper into AHREFS to uncover content gaps and keyword cannibalization issues. You might:
- Run a content gap report vs. competitors
- Identify low-hanging “striking distance” keywords
- Audit backlinks to top-performing pages
- Export keyword reports by region to support franchise SEO
- From this analysis, you'll create a punch list of actionable improvements to drive rankings and traffic growth.
2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Google Search Console Technical SEO Sprint
You’ll shift into GSC to monitor and resolve indexing issues, page experience problems, and mobile usability errors. You might:
- Triage and fix crawl errors or soft 404s
- Submit updated XML sitemaps
- Review Core Web Vitals reports
- Check URL Inspection results for newly published pages
You’ll log these issues in our shared SEO tracking sheet and partner with devs or content creators for resolution.
4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Collaboration with Developers: SEO Fix Implementation
You’ll meet with our developer team to push forward technical updates—this could include canonical tag fixes, lazy-loading tweaks, schema implementation, or site architecture improvements. You’ll get hands-on experience translating SEO needs into dev tickets and QAing fixes after deployment.
5:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Franchisee Content Check-In
You’ll wrap the day with a short Zoom or phone call with one of our franchise partners who is rolling out your earlier geo-silo strategy. You'll check progress on implementation, answer any content-related questions, and provide guidance on what to prioritize next.
