About This Job

Casago’s Director of Strategic Projects will be responsible for launching some of the company’s most critical ancillary businesses and growth opportunities. This newly created role will initially report directly to the Company’s President with the potential to transition to the Chief Strategy Officer or Chief Executive Officer  in time. The right person for this role will be highly functional at the strategic level with a keen focus on growth initiatives that will add significant, long term value to the company.

Essential Job Functions

Oversight of Existing Joint Ventures

    • Own and cultivate relationships with franchisees where we retain a continuing ownership stake 
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for the operating partners of these businesses and identify areas where we can help facilitate their success 
    • Encourage operating partners to adopt key initiatives that Casago is promoting or testing at the franchisor level 
    • Develop metrics for monitoring the health of these businesses. Ensure regular and accurate reporting on these metrics and identification of any concerning trends 
    • Establish and maintain consistent governance of the joint ventures, including regular board meetings and regular engagement with Casago executives
    • Build a realistic roadmap for selling these joint ventures to new franchisees in the next 2-5 years

M&A Pipeline Building 

    • Work with our Franchise Development team to identify existing independent operators (domestically and internationally) looking to sell their businesses 
    • Develop a plan for how to pair these willing sellers with willing buyers who would purchase these businesses as franchises. This could be in a series of individual transactions or bundled deal opportunities for larger buyers.
    • Create marketing materials for both buyers and sellers 
    • Evaluate prospective acquisition opportunities and provide the company’s executive team with an opinion of value for the businesses 
    • Negotiate deal terms that will then be appealing to prospective buyers
    • Connect sellers with interested buyers and help facilitate the transaction 

Launch New Ventures 

    • Assist the CEO in launching ancillary business ventures that will add tremendous value to the overall enterprise 
    • Recruit great partners in adjacent industries to help us launch these ventures and then nurture the relationships with those partners 
    • Consult with necessary stakeholders to ensure that these new ventures are appropriately  structured to add value and avoid unnecessary complexity
    • Coordinate with legal, finance, and other departments to form and launch these businesses 

Skills + Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to manage a team of 2-5 highly motivated analysts, operators and sales reps. 
  • 5+ years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling, and reporting, 
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain executive-level relationships with C-suite leaders and enterprise clients 
  • Capable of  independently developing financial models, diligence reports, business plans, pitch books, and other key M&A materials
  • 5+ years experience in financial diligence associated with M&A activity
  • Ability to work with legal teams to draft, edit and enforce operating agreements with partners and complex contracts with vendors. 
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills with ability to influence decision-makers at all organizational levels

Preferred

  • Experience in private equity, banking, hospitality, vacation rental, property management, insurance or franchise industries
  • Track record of launching new businesses or strategic initiatives
  • Experience leading multiple business lines
  • Sales and marketing experience

Workplace Environment + Expectations

  • This position in 100% remote. Ability to work from home and resides in one of the followings states: AK, AL, AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, or WY
  • Remote work environment with reliable internet connection; routine travel required to work with CEO in either Chattanooga, TN or Washington, DC.
  • Willingness to work extended hours on nights and weekends
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Typically a Monday - Friday workweek with weekend work expectations as needed based on project deadlines.
  • Extensive travel nationally and internationally up to 50% of the time.

Physical Demands
Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand/finger motions) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance.

Compensation

  • $150000 / year. Actual pay will vary based on a candidate's skill, experience, education and/or location.
