Vacation® is seeking a Product Development Manager to lead the development and execution of displays, merchandise & collateral. This role will report to the VP of Product Development (PD), but will collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Creative, & Operations to ensure that retail fixtures, point-of-sale materials, merchandise, & collateral are produced, delivered, and installed on time, within budget, and in conformance with brand standards. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in project management and production experience with retail displays, including the coordination of cross-departmental teams. To be successful in this role, you must be meticulous, responsive, and a self-starter. This is a hybrid role; 2-3 days a week onsite (Mid-City LA) with the Product Development team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee (in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Operations & Design) the end-to-end execution of displays, collateral & merchandise– from ideation and prototyping to production and deployment.
- Build & maintain yearly calendar for new merchandise & collateral launches.
- Create and maintain timelines to communicate upcoming due dates & milestones for each product launch.
- Lead project management with internal departments and external vendors to ensure on-time launches.
- Lead weekly status updates to the team.
- Track display tactics, materials, design ideas and emerging retail trends.
- Partner with Trade Marketing Manager to ensure displays comply with brand guidelines and retailer specifications.
- Analyze the performance of display programs; providing the company with detailed reporting on the effectiveness of each program.
- Conduct yearly reviews for merchandise & collateral; identifying phase-outs and opportunities for new product rollouts.
- Perform comprehensive yearly reviews of vendor performance, pricing, and service to drive sourcing strategy and negotiations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 5+ years experience in project management; preferably experience with in-store displays
- Must be able to work in-person 2-3 days per week; in Los Angeles (Mid City)
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs and drop off packages at FedEx/UPS for expedited shipping
- Organizational excellence when dealing with complex projects in a fast paced environment
- Experience maintaining accuracy during rapid changes
- Experience using project management software (Asana strongly preferred)
