Role Summary

XaaS Automation leads the automation and orchestration capabilities used to deliver technology services as a service. This role improves the speed, consistency, transparency, and scalability of service delivery by connecting workflows, APIs, infrastructure platforms, approval processes, and operational systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define an automation strategy and roadmap for technology services delivered through self-service or request-driven experiences.
  • Identify high-value opportunities to automate provisioning, configuration, validation, remediation, scaling, decommissioning, and service changes.
  • Design reusable workflows, orchestration patterns, APIs, integrations, and automation components that can be applied across services.
  • Connect automation to service catalogs, IT service management, IAM, monitoring, configuration management, inventory, and billing or consumption systems where applicable.
  • Establish controls for approvals, policy enforcement, secrets management, audit trails, exception handling, and human intervention.
  • Promote event-driven operations, infrastructure as code, continuous validation, and automated compliance checks.
  • Define standards for testing, version control, release management, observability, failure recovery, and maintainability.
  • Measure improvements in fulfillment time, error rates, operational effort, adoption, reliability, and customer experience.
