Associate Scientist, Tissue Production
About Us
Valo Health is a technology company that is integrating human-centric data and AI-powered technology to accelerate the creation of life-changing drugs for more patients faster. Valo was created with the belief that the drug discovery and development process can and should be faster and less expensive, with a much higher probability of success. We are using models early to fail less often, executing clinical trials to add valuation to the company, and generating fit-for-purpose data to feed back into Valo’s Opal Computational Platform™ as we reinvent drug discovery and development from the ground up. Disease doesn’t wait, so neither can we.
We are a multi-disciplinary team of experts in science, technology, and pharmaceuticals united in our mission to achieve better drugs for patients faster. Valo is committed to hiring diverse talent, prioritizing growth and development, fostering an inclusive environment, and creating opportunities to bring together a group of different experiences, backgrounds, and voices to work together. We achieve the widest-ranging impact when we leverage our broad backgrounds and perspectives to accelerate a new frontier in health. Valo seeks to become the catalyst for the pharmaceutical industry and drive the digital transformation of the industry. Are you ready to join us?

- Maintain laboratory organization
- Log and store reagent and supply deliveries
What You Bring...
- BS degree in cell biology, pharmacology, biotechnology, biological engineering or a related discipline with 2-4 years of experience performing cell/tissue-based assays in a lab setting; or an MS degree in cell biology, pharmacology, biotechnology, biological engineering or a related discipline with 0-2 years of experience performing cell/tissue-based assays in a lab setting
- Experience should include: microscopy, sterile tissue culture methods, recording and analyzing biological data
- Exceptionally keen attention to detail.
- Compliance-oriented, with high respect for the importance of standards, documentation and routine/repetition.
- Must be a cross-functional team-player but also be able to work independently, i.e., able to achieve results as an individual AND achieve results with and through colleagues.
- Must be able to take ownership of work tasks, i.e., able to follow through on tasks, identify and troubleshoot technical issues, seek clarity or assistance as needed
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and handle multiple projects at once.
- Must be flexible and able to quickly adapt to dynamic working conditions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of core statistical concepts including hypothesis testing, simple linear regression, ANOVA, and checking appropriate assumptions prior to application of statistical tests (normality, constant variance, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism
