Loan Administration at Valon
The Loan Administration team at Valon powers our operations and ensures we continue to run smoothly. We onboard loans, handle insurance, process payments, and offer a first-class experience to Valon's homeowners from behind the scenes.
About the Role
The Property Tax Specialist will be responsible for paying real estate taxes for our escrowed and non-escrowed accounts in a timely and accurate manner. This person will also maintain property records, monitor disbursements from third-party tax vendors, and directly resolve our homeowners’ tax-related issues.
Responsibilities
- Pay taxes in single-processing modes by installment due dates for specific payees, including tax disbursements to avoid incurring interest or penalties.
- Communicate with homeowners via email throughout the payment process.
- Oversee tax-related check and wire fund movements to ensure timely payment.
- Register new taxpayers upon request.
- Confirm escrowed funds are sufficient to make required payments.
- Procure and process property tax refunds.
- Monitor and drive resolution for delinquent accounts in the loan portfolio.
- Review reports to ensure compliance with state, federal, and investor guidelines.
- Liaise with third-party vendors, including tax authorities and title companies, to resolve homeowner issues.
- Complete monthly vendor audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Background
- 1+ year(s) of mortgage servicing experience within an escrow function or a tax service provider.
- Previous experience in a call center environment.
- Previous experience in leadership position.
- Previous experience working with CoreLogic or Lareta.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical abilities.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to solve business problems and manage change in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to appear and collaborate in regularly held in-person meetings.
