Controls Engineer – Life Sciences Manufacturing
Location: North Carolina
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controls Engineer to lead and manage the integration and enhancement of Building Management Systems (BMS) within our pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in North Carolina. This role is highly technical and requires hands-on involvement with existing systems, working collaboratively with external resources such as systems integrators.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead teams of internal and external resources, including systems integrators, to effectively execute projects aligned with organizational goals.
- Technical Expertise: Provide functional expertise in pharmaceutical BMS equipment, including chillers, boilers, and air handling units (AHUs).
- System Integration: Scope, define, and drive the integration of additional data from various process control systems into the existing BMS/VDS systems, including Wonderware SCADA, TopView, ICE, and related platforms.
- Project Management: Develop and manage the system integrator Request for Proposal (RFP), overseeing the project lifecycle from concept to execution.
- Collaboration: Work closely with local or on-site systems integrators to ensure seamless integration and adherence to project timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Strong functional expertise in Siemens, Rockwell, and Wonderware platforms.
- Experience: Proven experience with BMS equipment, including chillers, boilers, and AHUs.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, including external integrators.
- On-Site Commitment: Willingness to work primarily on-site to facilitate collaboration and integration efforts.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to scope and define complex integration projects and ensure their successful execution.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders, integrators, and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of Wonderware SCADA, TopView, ICE, and other similar platforms.
- Familiarity with local or on-site systems integrator collaboration.
