MES Implementation Engineer – Apprentice.io Tempo
Life Sciences | Systems Integration / Consulting
Overview
We are building a delivery team to design, configure, deploy, and scale Apprentice.io’s Tempo Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for large life sciences manufacturing clients. This role sits in a hands-on consulting delivery environment, working directly with manufacturing, quality, automation, and IT stakeholders to move sites from paper or legacy MES to a modern, cloud-native execution platform.
This is a delivery-focused role centered on process mapping, EBR/recipe configuration, integrations, validation support, and go‑live execution in regulated (GxP) manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process discovery and design workshops with client manufacturing, MS&T, QA, QC, Automation, and IT teams.
- Translate paper and hybrid batch records into executable Electronic Batch Records (EBRs) within Apprentice Tempo.
- Configure Tempo objects including procedures, recipes, batches, equipment, materials, exceptions, and locations.
- Author, test, and refine EBRs and recipes in collaboration with end users to ensure usability, data integrity, and right‑first‑time execution.
- Support system integrations (equipment status, master data, lab/QMS/ERP touchpoints) in coordination with client automation and IT teams.
- Produce and maintain delivery and validation documentation (URS, FRS, configuration specs, test evidence) aligned with client CSV expectations.
- Execute iterative build–test–demo cycles, incorporating operator and QA feedback prior to qualification and go‑live.
- Support UAT, cutover planning, go‑live, and hypercare, including rapid issue triage during early production runs.
- Enable client ownership through documentation, admin guides, and knowledge transfer as part of engagement closeout.
- Operate within an agile, consulting-style delivery model, often supporting multi-site or phased MES deployments.
Nice to Have
- Experience with MES, EBR, or digital manufacturing systems in life sciences (pharma, biotech, CGT, CDMO).
- Familiarity with GxP / CSV environments and regulated manufacturing workflows.
- Comfort working directly with clients in a delivery or consulting capacity.
- Prior exposure to io Tempo or other modern / no‑code MES platforms.
Why This Role
- Client-facing delivery work with real ownership of MES outcomes
- Exposure to modern, cloud-native MES (not legacy recipe coding)
- Opportunity to support rapid deployments and multi-site scale‑outs
- Strong mix of process, technology, and manufacturing operations
