Factory Framing Carpenter

Roles & Responsibilities:
The Factory Framing Carpenter will be essential to our manufacturing operations, focusing on assembling and framing pre-built housing components. This role involves producing factory framing designs by assembling floor trusses and wall panels into "cartridges," which may include roof cartridges using pre-built roof trusses. The carpenter will follow detailed build plans from our architecture and design team, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.
Position Summary:
Besides framing, the carpenter will ensure accurate and efficient assembly of components. This includes verifying measurements, proper placement, and securing components with appropriate tools and techniques. Attention to detail and quality is crucial, as this work affects the structural integrity and appearance of the framed cartridge as it is transported to job sites.
Collaboration is vital, requiring coordination with other carpenters, the factory framing lead, and the manager. Effective communication and teamwork are necessary to address issues during assembly and ensure all components meet standards. The carpenter should provide feedback and suggestions for improving processes and techniques.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Assemble and frame pre-built housing components into cartridge designs.
- Follow detailed build plans provided by the architecture and design team to ensure precision and adherence to specifications.
- Verify measurements, follow build step instructions, and identify creative solutions when framing materials are not exact.
- Collaborate effectively with other framing station carpenters, fostering trust and identifying opportunities for process efficiencies.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving assembly processes, addressing bottlenecks, and enhancing manufacturing techniques.
- Meet or exceed production goals set for the day or week, ensuring that the required capacity of board feet and/or cartridges is achieved.
- Prioritize safety by understanding and adhering to all safety guidelines and requirements set by the factory framing manager and safety manager.

Other Essential Skills/Qualifications:
- Education/Credentials: High school diploma or its equivalent preferred
- Forklift, Machinery training preferred
- 1-2 years of carpentry experience preferred or a willingness to upskill into this position
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Proven ability to apply math, writing, and language skills

- Salary: $22.00-$26.00 per hour (Pay is commensurate with experience, education, training, and skills)
