Settlement Closer

This Settlement Closer will be responsible for conducting client’s settlements by traveling to client’s new homes, client’s existing homes, or designated locations of buyers. The goals of this position are to ensure all legal and financial requirements are met before and during the closing process, provide clear communication with all parties involved, and create an efficient and pleasant experience for the client.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to new homes, client’s homes, or designated locations of buyers to conduct client’s settlements.
- Manage the closing process to ensure the client has an efficient and pleasant experience according to Van Metre guidelines to include set up of closing space, attire, and required items to bring to closing.
- Review all necessary closing documents (including Deeds, mortgages, and other legal papers, ensuring accuracy and completeness) before conducting closing.
- Follow documented post-closing procedures within required timeframe for Title Company and Van Metre.
- Use internal company software to complete required tasks.
- Explain the closing process to clients that need assistance, answer questions, and address any concerns clients have during the closing process.
- Obtain signatures on all required documents from buyers ensuring proper notarization and witnessing.
- Ensure all legal and financial requirements are met before and during the closing process.
- Provide clear communication with all parties involved in the closing process, including settlement manager, title company, lenders and sales managers.
- Track upcoming closings to ensure timely settlement.
- Perform the proper follow-up and collection of post-close documentation to support the loan.
- Meet quarterly with builder management and settlement manager to provide relevant training/information to better inform them in their customer meetings.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver license and reliable vehicle with insurance (travel required).
- Must be okay with flexible hours.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt to different situations and client personalities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Two (2) Years previous real estate experience, or settlement experience necessary.
- Must be a Notary Commission and have current Title Insurance License in Virginia.
- Virginia Certified Title Settlement Agent (must be certified or willing to obtain certification within 15 days of employment).

- Base Salary: $47,000-$55,000 annually (Pay is commensurate with experience, education, training, and skills)
