Punch Out Associate (Hourly)

The Punch Out Associate plays an essential role in preparing new homes for final inspection and delivery. Working under the direction of a Field Manager or Lead Technician, this position performs a variety of finish and repair tasks to ensure our homes meet Van Metre’s high standards of quality and presentation.

Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced with finish work in residential construction. We are seeking a team member who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys hands-on work, and values being part of a team that delivers exceptional homes. This is an hourly field-based role that supports the homebuilding process through skilled workmanship, efficiency, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned punch list and finish work including drywall patching, caulking, paint touch-ups, and minor carpentry repairs
  • Repair or replace interior finishes such as trim, baseboards, moldings, and cabinetry components
  • Perform final prep tasks including vent hood and window screen installation, filter changes, and general cleanup
  • Follow all Van Metre field procedures, safety standards, and quality guidelines
  • Communicate progress, material needs, and issues promptly to Field Managers
  • Assist with quality checks and homeowner walkthrough preparation as directed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in residential construction or finish work preferred
  • Skilled in basic finish carpentry, painting, and repair tasks
  • Proficiency with hand tools and finish materials
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to travel between job sites daily

Schedule and Classification

  • Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Work Environment: Field-based role across active communities and homesites; indoor and outdoor work conditions with regular travel between sites (reimbursement for travel is not included)

  • Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour (Pay is commensurate with experience, education, training, and skills)
