VantageScore® consumer credit scoring models combine the need for both financial inclusion and dependable predictiveness across all scoring ranges. About The Role

We are seeking a Technical Product Operations Manager with strong API product experience to lead the expanded development of the API infrastructure. This includes defining product requirements, architecting API workflows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. You will play a pivotal role in enabling simulation functionality via external integrations with financial institutions, fintechs, and data partners.

Key Responsibilities

API Product Leadership

  • Own the API product roadmap, requirements, and lifecycle (design, development, launch, maintenance).
  • Define RESTful API endpoints that support simulation capabilities and score change logic.
  • Establish standards for API versioning, documentation, authentication, and error handling.
  • Partner with data science and engineering to translate scoring models into API-driven simulation logic.

Cross-Functional Technical Collaboration

  • Work with backend engineers to ensure scalable and secure API architecture, including data validation and performance tuning.

Developer Experience & External Integrations

  • Define and refine the developer experience through comprehensive API documentation (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI), SDKs, and sandbox environments.
  • Collaborate with external partners integrating the simulator via APIs, providing product and technical guidance. Define API usage metrics, SLAs, rate limits, and developer onboarding workflows.

Product Ownership & Agile Execution

  • Translate complex simulation workflows into user stories, technical specs, and backlog items.
  • Lead sprint planning and prioritize API-related technical debt, enhancements, and bug fixes.
  • Monitor API health, adoption, and usage analytics to inform roadmap decisions and iterations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Candidates must be based within 1 Hr. commuting proximity to our office in: San Francisco Bay Area Peninsula
  • 4+ years in product management with at least 2 years owning APIs as a product.
  • Strong grasp of API design principles (REST, JSON, OAuth, pagination, rate limiting, etc.).
  • Experience working with backend systems, credit data pipelines, or simulation engines.
  • Proficiency in API management tools and documentation platforms (e.g., Postman, Swagger, Apigee).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with engineering teams on system-level architecture.

Preferred:

  • Experience building APIs in fintech, credit analytics, or consumer finance products.
  • Knowledge of modern tech stacks (e.g., AWS, Python).
