Position Overview 

The Analyst, Capital Markets & Industry Relations will play a critical role in shaping how VantageScore is understood, evaluated, and adopted across the capital markets ecosystem. 

While VantageScore is not a publicly traded company, we operate at the center of the mortgage and auto finance markets, where adoption decisions are heavily influenced by capital markets participants, ABS investors, rating agency stakeholders, research analysts, and industry influencers. This role will support and strengthen our engagement with these audiences to drive confidence, credibility, and market acceptance of VantageScore across origination and securitization channels. 

The Analyst will partner closely with Executive Leadership, Capital Markets, Sales, Product, Analytics, and Marketing to develop performance narratives, support investor and analyst engagement, and ensure that VantageScore’s impact on collateral performance, credit risk, and securitization markets is clearly articulated and well understood. 

Key Responsibilities 

Capital Markets & ABS Engagement 

Support VantageScore’s strategic engagement with: 

  • ABS investors (mortgage and auto) 
  • Structured finance participants 
  • Rating agency stakeholders 
  • Secondary marketing and capital markets leaders at lenders 
  • Sell-side and buy-side market strategists 

Develop clear, data-driven narratives explaining how VantageScore impacts: 

  • Collateral composition 
  • Risk segmentation 
  • Delinquency and loss expectations 
  • Vintage performance 
  • Deal pricing and market confidence 

Partner with internal analytics teams to translate model performance results into securitization-relevant insights suitable for investor and market audiences. 

Assist in preparing materials and talking points for executive-level meetings, roadshows, industry conferences, and structured finance events. 

Analyst & Industry Relations 

Support engagement with: 

  • Equity research analysts covering mortgage, consumer finance, fintech, and credit reporting sectors 
  • Industry analysts and research firms 
  • Trade associations and influential market commentators 

Help shape and maintain consistent external narratives regarding: 

  • VantageScore adoption trends 
  • Mortgage and auto market penetration 
  • Regulatory developments 
  • Fair lending and model governance considerations 
  • Capital markets implications of score migration 

Monitor industry research, analyst commentary, and structured finance market developments to identify risks, misconceptions, and strategic opportunities. 

Develop briefing materials and background documents to ensure VantageScore leadership is well prepared for analyst and market-facing discussions. 

 

Market Intelligence & Strategic Insight 

Track ABS issuance trends, collateral performance trends, and investor sentiment in mortgage and auto markets. 

Analyze how credit score usage influences: 

  • Loan eligibility and overlays 
  • Secondary market execution 
  • Securitization structuring and investor positioning 

Provide leadership with actionable insights regarding how capital markets dynamics may accelerate or impede VantageScore adoption. 

Support the development of KPI dashboards that reflect market adoption progress and capital markets acceptance indicators. 

 

Cross-Functional Partnership 

Collaborate with: 

  • Sales and Client Success teams to support capital markets discussions with Tier 1 lenders 
  • Product and Analytics teams to align performance messaging with market expectations 
  • Marketing to develop externally facing capital markets content (white papers, investor briefs, conference materials) 
  • Executive leadership to ensure consistent positioning in high-stakes industry settings 

Help ensure that lender conversion efforts account for secondary market and investor considerations where relevant. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • 5–10+ years of experience in capital markets, structured finance, mortgage banking, auto finance, or related financial services fields 
  • Direct or adjacent exposure to one or more of the following: 
  • ABS / structured finance markets 
  • Secondary marketing or capital markets at a lender 
  • Investor relations or analyst relations 
  • Rating agency engagement 
  • Credit risk or securitization analytics 
  • Strong understanding of: 
  • How credit scores are used in underwriting, pricing, and eligibility 
  • Securitization structures and collateral performance metrics 
  • Delinquency curves, vintage analysis, and loss modeling concepts 
  • Strong analytical literacy — comfortable interpreting performance data, risk segmentation, and market trend analysis 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical credit analytics into clear, business-oriented capital markets narratives 
  • Executive presence and comfort interacting with senior leaders, investors, analysts, and industry stakeholders 
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously 
  • High degree of initiative, intellectual curiosity, and comfort operating in a dynamic regulatory and market environment 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in mortgage or auto ABS markets 
  • Experience working with rating agencies or institutional investors 
  • Familiarity with fair lending, model governance, or regulatory frameworks affecting credit scoring 
  • Advanced degree in finance, economics, business, or related field 

Compensation & Benefits 

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $150,000 – $195,000, plus eligibility for annual bonus compensation. This salary range represents a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
