Senior Database Administrator

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator with over 5 years of experience in administering various database systems, including MySQL, Cassandra DB, Oracle, Hana, Hadoop, and other relational, data warehouse, or No-SQL databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in a production environment. Additionally, you should possess at least 3 years of experience in data warehouse administration on AWS and/or Azure, along with 2 years of experience with modern distributed container cluster management systems such as Kubernetes and Docker.

Key responsabilities:

• Join a team of talented and technical database engineers responsible for maintaining global database systems for Enterprise Engineering.
• Build, scale, and administer Data Warehouse, RDBMS, NoSQL, and Graph database infrastructure, focusing on the performance, availability, and growth needs of the company.
• Enhance and optimize database administration and management through coding and automation.
• Support day-to-day operations and manage escalations of the database systems.
• Contribute to meeting KPIs and SLAs through effective task queue management.
• Collaborate in large-scale global disaster recovery exercises, working closely with infrastructure, production, and business teams at Aera.
• Develop an ecosystem supported by comprehensive automation, prioritizing build versus buy and self-service solutions.
• Engage in troubleshooting, fault isolation, and effective communication across infrastructure, applications, and business teams.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule.

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience administering MySQL, Cassandra DB, Oracle, Hana, Hadoop, or other relational, data warehouse or No-SQL database covering designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in a production environment.
• 3+ years’ experience of data warehouse administration on Azure and/or AWS.
• 2+ years’ experience with modern distributed container cluster management systems (Kubernetes, Docker).

Nice to have:

• Experience administering RDBMS (Oracle, MSSQL), Analytical DBs (Exasol, Hana, Redshift, Postgres), GraphDB (Neo4j, AWS Neptune) covering designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in a production environment
• Experience building, securing and automating enterprise scale infrastructure and systems.
• Experience with the use of Data Loss Prevention, Encryption/Tokenization, Database Activity Monitoring technologies.
• Experience with continuous integration tools such as: Jenkins, Liquidbase, Flyway, etc. a BIG plus.
• Exasol (data warehouse) experience is also highly desired
