At Variacode, we are looking for a Fractional Head of Datacenter & Cloud Operations to work with one of our clients, a leading company in cloud infrastructure and GPU as a Service (GPUaaS).

Our client is revolutionizing access to high-performance computing (HPC) for artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), scientific simulations, and graphics computing, deploying cutting-edge infrastructure in Europe and Latin America.

📌 What will be your mission in this role?

🔹 Lead the strategy and execution of GPUaaS infrastructure, ensuring an efficient and scalable deployment.
🔹 Oversee data center selection and infrastructure planning in Europe (Phase 1) and LATAM (Phase 2).
🔹 Manage vendors and contracts with colocation, cloud, and hardware providers.
🔹 Ensure cloud integration (AWS, Azure, GCP) to optimize performance and scalability.
🔹 Guarantee compliance, security, and operational efficiency across multiple regions.

📌 What profile are we looking for?

✅ 10+ years of experience in data centers, cloud, HPC infrastructure, or GPUaaS.
✅ Experience in colocation, hybrid cloud architectures, and AI/ML infrastructure deployment.
✅ Strong expertise in vendor management, contract negotiation, and financial optimization (CAPEX/OPEX).
✅ Knowledge of security, compliance, and governance in data center operations.
✅ Experience negotiating with infrastructure providers and strategic planning.
✅ Proficiency in Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and optimizing computing, storage, and networks.
✅ Fluent English is mandatory. Spanish is a plus.

🌍 Location: Preferably in Europe or LATAM with experience in the European market.

📍 Modality: Remote with occasional travel to data centers in Europe and LATAM.

📌 Contract Details

📆 Start Date: March (Early-Mid March).
📆 Duration: Initial 6-month contract with the possibility of extension.
⏳ Workload:

• 80 hours in the first month (focus on strategy and data center selection).
• 40 hours per month from the second month onward (operational support).
  ✈ Availability for occasional travel to data centers in Europe and LATAM.
