Backend Engineer (Java + Kafka)

At Variacode, we are looking for a Backend Engineer (Java + Kafka) to join our team and support our client, a fast-growing technology-driven company working on innovative projects in cloud computing and data streaming. This is a long-term remote position with opportunities for career growth in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

📌 What You’ll Do

✔ Work closely with the client's team to develop, maintain, and optimize backend applications.
✔ Ensure seamless integration between Kafka, microservices, and business applications.
✔ Take ownership of infrastructure management and deployments in AWS.
✔ Work directly with the client to align technical solutions with business needs.
✔ Provide support and maintenance for existing applications and processes.
✔ Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to adapt to evolving requirements.

🔹 What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a highly skilled engineer with expertise in cloud computing, microservices, and event-driven architectures.

✅ Technical Skills (Must-Have):
✔ Strong experience in AWS, including infrastructure management and deployments.
✔ Advanced Java expertise – critical for microservices development and optimization.
✔ Hands-on experience with Kafka, ensuring correct configuration and business rule alignment.
✔ Familiarity with microservices architecture and best practices.

✅ Nice-to-Have:
✔ Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
✔ English proficiency (preferred).
✔ Ability to work independently and proactively solve problems.

🌍 Work Details

📍 Location: Remote (Chile Time Zone GMT-3 preferred).
⏳ Work Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week).
📝 Contract Type: Long-term.
