THE OPPORTUNITY  

As a Senior Cloud Engineer I, you will be working alongside a global, multidisciplinary team of cloud engineers; as well as Customer Support, Development, Architecture, and Quality Assurance teams to implement and support new features and enhancements to the Incentive Compensation Management products. You will be contributing and guiding the technical work on the services supporting Incentive Compensation Management pipeline. The team will also be entrusting you with helping to scale the team by mentoring cloud operation engineers and monitoring the quality of the service.

WHAT YOU BRING 

Technical Skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience with 4+ years of professional experience in a CloudOps / DevOps role. 
  • Experience with supporting, maintaining and developing on cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, and IBM. 
  • Experience in automation and software development, with proficiency in one of more programming languages (Scripting language, Python, etc.). 
  • Previous experience with client-facing production services and incident management. 
  • A track record of being able to learn innovative technologies and frameworks. 
  • Hands on experience with CI/CD pipeline development and management. 
  • Good knowledge of infrastructure and application performance monitoring solutions. 
  • Working knowledge of RDP, SSH, TLS 
  • Well versed in core networking concepts, IP space, DNS, VPN. 
  • Experience working with enterprise databases.  
  • Strong technical knowledge in Linux and Windows server (physical and containerized deployments and management). 
  • Experience in Container application implementation and troubleshooting with Docker Engine, images, etc. and Docker Management Utilities (Kubernetes). 
  • Strong knowledge in Service Monitoring & Log Management Tools. 
  • Strong knowledge in Application Performance Monitoring (APM) (Health service dashboards, KPI’s and metrics). 
  • Strong knowledge in various communication technologies and platforms 

Collaboration and Communication:  

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. 
  • C2 level English or higher is required. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • Lead infrastructure service requests towards customer focused resolution and improvements. 
  • Continually monitor and tune application infrastructure and services to assure optimal performance, availability, and utilization of resources. 
  • Work with application teams to automate application configuration, setup and deployment. 
  • Provide technical solutions to automate processes or functions to improve business operations. 
  • Engineer, deploy and support releases, enhancements, and upgrades or new services throughout nonproduction and production environments. 
  • Be flexible and adjust your working hours as needed to align with other global Cloud teams ensuring close team collaboration and workflow continuity throughout our support zones. 

IN THE SHORT TERM (1-3 MONTHS) YOU WILL: 

  • Complete training on our tech stack and join a squad of cloud engineers to support, optimize and improve our production environments. 
  • Learn our service observability and application performance monitoring stack. 
  • Learn our customer focused service requests workflows and technologies. 

IN THE MEDIUM TERM (4-6 MONTHS) YOU WILL: 

  • Lead our customer focused service requests workflows to resolution. 
  • Continually monitor and tune application infrastructure to assure optimal performance, availability, and utilization of resources. 
  • Work with application teams to automate application configuration changes, setup, and deployment. 
  • Provide technical solutions to automate processes or functions to improve business operations. 

IN THE LONG TERM (7 MONTHS & BEYOND) YOU WILL: 

  • Be the subject matter expert for the new features you've built or enhancements you've implemented and propagate your knowledge throughout the team. 
  • Lead technical discussions and design for new projects. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process change in the team, and work with stakeholders to improve operations workflows. 
  • Work with the Architecture, Development, and Quality Assurance teams and contribute to the technical planning of upcoming features in the next release.
