As a QA Analyst, you will be supporting the quality, reliability and performance of Varicent's Incentives application, designed to automate, model and manage complex sales compensation plans. The role is responsible for identifying issues, contributing to process improvements, and helping ensure a seamless user experience. Working under the guidance of senior staff, you will be testing low to moderate complexity issues, developing testing requirements from that direction. Work performed in this role directly supports the trust users place in the platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs manual testing to validate new features and bug fixes.
- Validates API responses and tests database interactions to ensure system reliability.
- Identifies and reports defects, providing clear and detailed information, for small-size projects, working under the guidance of senior staff.
- Identifies, documents, and prioritizes bugs in JIRA or similar tools.
- Re-tests fixed defects and performs regression testing before releases.
- Works on simple defects unaided and contributes to testing medium-size projects with guidance.
- Identifies "happy path" and negative tests based on given requirements.
- Identifies the scope of small features or fixes based on overall business goals.
- Identifies the priority of test cases and provides estimates for assignments.
- Works with QA and development peers to analyze technical problems and escalates problems to leads.
- Contributes to refining the QA process by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements.
- Stays current on QA trends and tools to improve testing practices.
- Takes action to improve processes and makes sound, timely decisions using the information and resources available.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- • 0–2 years of experience.
- • Basic knowledge of software testing methodologies, including manual testing.
- • Familiarity with QA tools such as JIRA or Postman.
- • Basic understanding of REST APIs and database testing.
- • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- • Good understanding of product functionality and architecture and how it fits into the business.
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- • B2 level English or higher is required.
FIRST 30 DAYS: GETTING STARTED
- Familiarize yourself with the product, team structure, and development workflow.
- Understand the testing framework and review existing test cases and reports.
- Start testing minor features and logging bugs to learn the system.
- Participate in team meetings and shadow senior QA analysts during test planning sessions.
FIRST 60 DAYS: BUILDING MOMENTUM
- Take ownership of writing and executing test cases for client bugs, small features or modules.
- Collaborate with the development team to test more complex features and identify potential edge cases.
FIRST 90 DAYS: HITTING YOUR STRIDE
- Gained increased knowledge of the System under test
- Increased ownership of testing tasks or projects
- Provide feedback to the team on onboarding processes and identify areas for improvement in QA workflows.
For this role, the estimated annual base salary range is between $450,900.00 - 591,700.00 MXN. In addition to base salary, our compensation package may include bonuses, commissions for eligible sales roles, and a comprehensive benefits package. The actual base salary will vary based on factors including individual qualifications and market data, as objectively assessed during the interview process.
