Are you passionate about AWS, automation, and finding smarter ways to build and manage cloud infrastructure?
We're looking for a Staff Cloud Engineer to help us scale and improve the cloud infrastructure behind multiple Varicent products, including our Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) application.
This is more than a traditional cloud operations role. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful projects, influence technical decisions, and bring fresh ideas to the table. We're looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, solving complex problems, and finding better ways to do things.
You'll work with a collaborative, remote engineering team where your expertise and initiative can make a real impact.
What You'll Do
-
Design, manage, and optimize secure, scalable, and reliable AWS infrastructure across multiple SaaS products.
-
Build and improve infrastructure automation using Terraform.
-
Enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and cloud operations.
-
Improve monitoring, performance, security, and cloud cost efficiency.
-
Identify opportunities for improvement, propose solutions, and drive technical initiatives from start to finish.
-
Collaborate with engineers and architects, share your knowledge, and help shape cloud engineering best practices.
What You Bring
-
5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or similar roles.
-
3+ years of hands-on AWS experience, working with services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
-
Strong hands-on Terraform expertise.
-
Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automating infrastructure processes.
-
Familiarity with cloud monitoring, networking, and security best practices.
-
Scripting experience and a strong automation mindset.
-
A proactive approach to problem-solving, with examples of independently leading technical improvements.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
Even Better If You Have
-
A background in software development before moving into cloud engineering or DevOps.
-
Experience with Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, or container orchestration.
-
Experience supporting multiple SaaS products or complex cloud environments.
-
Familiarity with ELT/ETL platforms or data-intensive applications.
You don't need to check every box. If you have strong AWS and Terraform experience, enjoy taking ownership, and love making cloud infrastructure better, we'd love to hear from you!
