Product Designer

Chicago, IL

Join a company that shares your startup drive and vision, but with the stability and resources to provide long-term success and security.

At Vast, we’re building the operational backbone for high-performance B2B and B2C clients — fast-moving businesses that demand clarity, control, and scale. As a Product Designer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our platform, partnering closely with our product and engineering teams to design tools that simplify complex workflows and empower our clients to move faster and smarter.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll translate intricate operational and compliance processes into intuitive, elegant interfaces. Your work will directly influence how finance, compliance, legal, and operations teams engage with our platform — and how efficiently they can execute their missions.

This position is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in office in Chicago, IL.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the design and workflow process for key modules of our client-facing platform, from initial concepts to production assets.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to bring clarity to complex user journeys and translate requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and more.
  • Create clean, scalable, and visually compelling designs using Figma as your primary design tool.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to ensure we’re solving the right problems and delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Advocate for the user while balancing business goals and technical constraints.
  • Help define and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the platform.
  • Turn abstract workflows into clear, powerful, and intuitive interfaces.

What You Have
  • 2-5 years of professional product design experience, preferably in SaaS environments.
  • Deep expertise with Figma — from wireframing and prototyping and beyond.
  • A strong UX foundation with a track record of designing clean, intuitive interfaces for complex systems.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; you can take feedback, influence decisions, and articulate design tradeoffs with clarity.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates your ability to turn complex workflows into beautiful, user-friendly experiences.
  • Bonus: Graphic design experience leveraging Photoshop or similar tools

Compensation

$70,000 - $90,000 USD
