Senior Manager, Combustion Devices

Vast is looking for a(n) Senior Manager of Combustion Devices, reporting to the Director of Haven Propulsion, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. Use this space to describe the role and sell the candidate on the cool stuff they would get to work on.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
- Strong technical fundamentals in mechanical design, manufacturing, materials processing including welding, brazing, additive manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Demonstrated experience with Computer aided design tools (CAD)
- Demonstrated experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Proven understanding of production processes
- Familiarity with data analysis and data processing
- Demonstrated success with corrective action implementation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other engineering discipline
- 8+ years of aerospace industry or related field experience
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Engineering M.S. or higher
- 5+ years liquid rocket engine combustion devices experience
- RCS combustion device design experience
- Technical fundamentals of rocket engine propulsion, fluids, thermodynamics, heat transfer and/or combustion.
- Working knowledge of combustion devices design, manufacturing, and testing.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
- Specific certifications, as appropriate
Pay Range:
- Senior Manager, Engineering: $160,000-$200,000
Salary Range: California
$160,000 - $200,000 USD
