Manufacturing Technician, Mechanical Sub-Assemblies

Vast is looking for a Manufacturing Technician, Mechanical Sub-Assemblies reporting to the Senior Manager, Mechanical Sub-Assemblies, to support subassembly operations including the build of Structures and Thermal Control Systems for Haven-1 and beyond. This will be a full-time, non-exempt position in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacture and assemble flight hardware using drilling, fastening, bonding, and other processes.
- Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
- Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and quality personnel to develop and document work instructions.
- Ensure all production services are performed on time, safely and in a professional manner.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production.
- Experience with NPI (New Product Introduction/Development.)
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Precision drilling experience (± .001)
- Experience in the aerospace industry, aviation, military, medical device, or other high-reliability operating environments.
- FAA Airframe and PowerPlant license
- Demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, manuals, and reports.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
- Experience with forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working in tight spaces.
- Must be willing to travel when needed to support vehicle testing and integration (Mojave, Ohio, Florida).
Pay Range:
- Manufacturing Technician II: $28.00 - $40.00
- Manufacturing Technician III: $33.00 - $48.00
