Supervisor of Additive Manufacturing

Vast is looking for a Supervisor of Additive Manufacturing, reporting to the Manager of Additive Manufacturing, to support the development of the components and systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. The Additive Manufacturing Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing the efficient operation of our additive lab, ensuring productivity, quality standards, and safety protocols are upheld at all times.
This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day procedural additive shift specific work.
- Lead a team of additive technicians owning all additive equipment, post processing, and quality control.
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals, handovers, and expectations.
- Work closely with manufacturing planners for efficient scheduling and prioritization of production.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams for process improvements and preventative maintenance.
- Continual optimization of additive platform operations.
- Ensure aerospace industry safety standards, quality standards, and quality control measures are followed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience with metal additive manufacturing technology and 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience leading a team or project(s).
- Experience with additive post processing.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience operating, troubleshooting, performing maintenance on large scale multi-laser powder bed platforms.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of team management.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and drive innovation within the organization.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to work split shifts and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
Salary Range: California
$80,000 - $110,000 USD
