Enterprise Information Systems Manager

Bristol, RI

At Vatn Systems, we design and build cutting edge Autonomous Underwater Vehicles that push the limits of exploration and defense in some of the harshest environments on Earth. Our vehicles bring together precision hardware, advanced electronics, and high performance software into effective, mass producible systems.

We are looking for an Enterprise Information Systems Manager to own and build the digital backbone of the company. This role is responsible for connecting the systems that define, build, and track our products across the business, including Arena PLM, ION by First Resonance, NetSuite, and Salesforce, ensuring clean data flow and alignment from engineering through production, Revenue, and finance.

In this role you will sit in the middle of engineering, manufacturing, quality, and finance and turn how we want to operate into systems that actually enforce it. The goal is simple. What engineering defines is what we build. What we build is what we track. And what we report reflects reality. You will drive system integrations, establish data governance, and build workflows that remove ambiguity and eliminate manual workarounds. This is a foundational role for someone who likes building from zero, thrives in fast moving environments, and wants to directly shape how a production system scales.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own the enterprise systems stack across our PLM, MES, ERP, and CRM, ensuring alignment from business development, engineering through production and into finance
  • Architect and maintain the digital thread from product definition to build execution to financial reporting
  • Lead all system integrations and adjacent tools to enable real time, accurate data flow
  • Translate business processes into system driven workflows that enforce how the company operates at scale
  • Establish and govern data structures including part numbering, BOM integrity, revision control, and configuration traceability
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Business Development to ensure systems reflect real world execution, not theoretical workflows
  • Eliminate manual workarounds and shadow systems by driving adoption of standardized tools and processes
  • Own system implementation, configuration, and continuous improvement across all enterprise platforms
  • Define and manage user roles, permissions, and approval flows to balance speed with control
  • Build reporting and dashboards that provide accurate, decision ready visibility into operations and performance
  • Drive system readiness to support production ramp, new product introduction, and scaling of operations
  • Act as the primary interface with system vendors, managing relationships, performance, and roadmap alignment
  • Identify gaps in current systems and lead evaluation and rollout of new tools where needed
  • Ensure system level data integrity so what is designed, built, tested, and reported all reconcile without manual intervention

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience owning or implementing enterprise systems across PLM, MES, and ERP environments such as Arena PLM, ION by First Resonance, and NetSuite
  • Strong understanding of how products move from engineering definition to manufacturing execution to financial reporting
  • Proven track record building or scaling system infrastructure in a hardware or manufacturing environment
  • Experience integrating systems and managing data flow across multiple platforms with minimal manual intervention
  • Deep understanding of BOM structures, revision control, and configuration management in a production setting
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business processes into structured, system driven workflows
  • Hands on experience configuring systems, not just managing vendors or writing requirements
  • Strong data mindset with experience driving data integrity, governance, and reporting accuracy
  • Ability to operate in fast moving environments with incomplete information and evolving processes
  • Experience working cross functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to identify root causes across systems and processes
  • Ability to drive adoption and enforce standards across teams without formal authority
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to align technical and non technical stakeholders around a common system strategy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience standing up a full digital thread from zero across PLM, MES, and NetSuite in a high growth hardware company
  • Background in defense, robotics, aerospace, or similarly complex electromechanical products
  • Experience supporting production ramp from low rate builds to scaled manufacturing
  • Familiarity with integrating MCAD and ECAD systems such as SolidWorks and Altium Designer into a PLM backbone
  • Experience implementing configuration control and change management processes in an NPI heavy environment
  • Exposure to quality systems and standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001
  • Experience building dashboards and reporting layers that tie operational data to business performance
  • Comfort working directly with vendors to shape product roadmap and drive system capabilities
  • Experience introducing structure into environments that previously relied on manual processes or tribal knowledge
  • Bias toward action with a track record of shipping systems quickly and iterating in place rather than over designing upfront

Vatn is an equal opportunity employer, and we welcome candidates from all backgrounds to apply. We look forward to reviewing your application and potentially having you join our team in shaping the future of autonomous underwater exploration.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

An "active duty wartime or campaign badge veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during a war, or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized under the laws administered by the Department of Defense.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
