Summary: 

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in developing cloud-based solutions and full-stack application development. This role will focus on building and maintaining robust infrastructure on Azure using Terraform, managing workflows with GitHub, and implementing CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will also bring experience in full-stack development, contributing to both front-end and back-end aspects of our application stack, which include PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, GraphQL, Angular and NextJS. Additionally, experience working in the biotech industry is preferred. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Develop, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on Azure using Terraform as Infrastructure as Code (IaC). 
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and other automation tools to support efficient and reliable code deployment. 
  • Design and deploy containerized applications using Docker and manage clusters with Kubernetes. 
  • Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and deploy full-stack solutions using PostgreSQL/Azure SQL, GraphQL, and Angular/NextJS. 
  • Work closely with data engineers to manage data workflows and integrations with Azure Data Factory. 
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in infrastructure security, scalability, and monitoring. 
  • Contribute to a collaborative, agile work environment and participate in code reviews, stand-ups, and cross-functional projects. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Life Sciences, or related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience. Other combinations of education and/or experience may be considered. 
  • Excellent knowledge of core programming and database concepts. 
  • Proven evidence and desire to learn and adapt to changing technologies and business needs. 
  • Cloud Architecture: Strong experience designing Azure-based solutions using Terraform. 
  • CI/CD: Proficiency with GitHub Actions and implementing CI/CD workflows. 
  • Full-Stack Development: Expertise in back-end technologies like Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL. 
  • Front-End Development: Proficiency with Angular and Next.js frameworks. 
  • DevOps Mindset: Experience in infrastructure-as-code (IaC), continuous deployment, and automated testing. 
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills. 
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) is a plus. 
  • Experience in Computer System validation is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with other cloud IaC tools, such as Azure Resource Manager. 
  • Experience with serverless architectures and microservices. 
  • Experience in Automation scripting (e.g., Python, Bash). 

 

Reports to: Principal Data Systems Engineer 

Location: San Carlos, CA 

Compensation: 

The compensation package will be competitive and includes comprehensive benefits and an equity component. 

Salary Range: $166,000 – $192,000 (SF Bay Area). Salary ranges for non-California locations may vary.
