Veterinary Assistant - Specialty

The new Veterinary Eye Center of Massachusetts is seeking a true Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Newton. The practice is the first standalone referral ophthalmology practice of its kind in the area.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist Doctors and Technicians in providing a seamless client and patient appointment experience
  • Handling and restraint of patients for consultation exams and patient sample collection
  • Handling and submission of patient samples to in-house and external laboratory
  • Thorough cleaning, organization, and stocking of appointment exam rooms and appointment treatment area

What We’d Like:

  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience as a veterinary assistant
  • Confidence in Fear Free handling and restraint techniques with dogs and cats
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to clearly communicate with clients as well as colleagues
  • The ability to adapt while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Highly evolved organizational skills with an acute attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently, responsibly, and ethically
  • A resourceful nature and creative problem-solving skills
  • An openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning
  • A commitment to the welfare of animals
