Vector’s Value Creation Team

Vector is currently scaling up its Value Creation Team (VCT) which currently consists of Managing Directors, Principals, VPs, and Associates from leading consulting firms including Bain, McKinsey, and the Boston Consulting Group. The team has a strong culture of mentorship and development, and invests heavily in expanding its core capabilities across growth, transformation, M&A. Out team plays a critical role during the investment process as well as throughout the ownership of a portfolio company:

  • Partner with Vector’s Investment Team during the diligence process
  • Develop value creation plans, operating models, strategy, and first 100-day plans
  • Engage with portfolio company management to execute various projects
  • Drive strategic and operational initiatives that create tangible value

Role

We are currently looking for an Associate to join our growing team in San Francisco. Our VCT Associates typically work closely with a Vice President or Principal for the first 6-9 months at Vector to develop a strong command of private equity, technology, and operational topics. Associates have historically split their time equally between growth acceleration, M&A, and transformation. The individual will be an integral part of Vector’s Value Creation Team, and will work alongside senior members of Vector and its portfolio company executives on the following items:

  • Building strong relationships with CEOs, CFOs, Board of Directors, and other company executives to identify and execute value creation opportunities
  • Execution of strategic and transformation initiatives across portfolio companies
  • Identification, planning, and execution of transformative add-on M&A opportunities
  • Development of transformation plans to support the investment thesis during the diligence process
  • Development and execution of first 100-day plans in partnership with portfolio teams
  • Monitoring of Vector’s portfolio companies’ performance and trajectory
  • Management of external vendors to support diligence, execution, and transition

Qualifications

  • 2+ Years of experience at a top-tier management consulting firm
  • Undergraduate degree from a top-tier university with a strong GPA
  • Analytical skills, ability to process complex problems, distill insight from data, and develop solutions
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, business acumen, and judgement
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in financial modeling and accounting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in business transformation efforts
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills and ability to work fast-paced environments
  • Ability to travel 40-60% of the week
