Vedanta Biosciences is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company developing medicines for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. The company’s lead assets include potential first-in-class oral therapies, VE303, in a Phase 3 trial for recurrent C. difficile infection, and VE202, in a Phase 2 trial for ulcerative colitis. Vedanta’s pipeline has been built using the company’s industry-leading product engine for the development of therapies based on defined consortia of bacteria grown from pure clonal cell banks. The product engine, supported by foundational IP, includes one of the largest libraries of bacteria isolated from the human microbiome, vast clinical datasets, proprietary capabilities in consortium design, and end-to-end CGMP manufacturing capabilities at commercial launch scale.
The Role:
We’re seeking a Senior Facilities Specialist to oversee the seamless operation of our lab, office, and manufacturing spaces across our Cambridge and Acton locations. In this role, you will manage daily facilities operations, coordinate maintenance efforts, and collaborate with internal teams, property management, and external vendors. As the administrative lead for the department, you will support tasks ranging from work order tracking to vendor scheduling and equipment procurement.

Here’s What You’ll Do:
- Facilities Management: Oversee daily operations of facilities in Cambridge and Acton, promptly responding to facility alarms and service needs.
- Compliance and Safety: Conduct routine inspections of life safety systems, mechanical spaces, and building operations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage vendor relationships and coordinate on-site visits for maintenance, repairs, and facility modifications.
- Contract Management: Maintain and oversee contracts for services such as cleaning, calibration, and equipment maintenance.
- Project Support: Assist in cross-functional facility projects by coordinating documentation, communications, and action plans.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and maintain equipment-specific maintenance and calibration schedules.
- Liaison Role: Serve as the primary contact between internal teams and building management or service providers.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties including work order documentation, SOP updates, purchase orders, and maintenance agreements.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma, Trade School certifications, or equivalent combination of experience and education (e.g., licensed trades such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, marine engineering, etc.). Minimum of 3 years of relevant facilities experience; experience in a life sciences or biotech setting is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with HVAC, life safety systems, security systems, and general facilities operations.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office and facility-related software systems; experience with Oracle or SAP is advantageous.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in environments with moderate to high noise levels (PPE provided) and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Communication Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
