About the Role 

The Solutions Engineer will accelerate our partnerships, supporting the Partnerships and Product functions to translate our capabilities to prospective customers. This role reports to the Director of Products and Services and works collaboratively with the Partnerships function.  

Relocation to Durham, North Carolina, is not required for this role; however, some travel will be expected to create structured in-person time with the team (e.g., 25% in-person) and to support any discussions with prospective customers. We also expect new hires to spend up to one week on-site in Durham during the initial onboarding period.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the Partnerships function throughout the customer sales journey, serving as a liason between the Product and Partnerships functions 
  • Help ensure commercial commitments are technically realistic and aligned with product and engineering capabilities 
  • Deliver technical product demonstrations and tailor them to specific customer use cases, including developing and mocking-up early iterations of products 
  • Develop diagrams, technical documentation, and other materials that make complex architecture and systems understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the sales process 
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand prospective customer workflows, infrastructure, data integration requirements, risks, and implementation needs early on 
  • Own or contribute to the technical sections of RFPs, RFIs, proposals, and prospective customer questionnaires, including but not limited to, security reviews, architecture reviews, technical diligence, and customer IT discussions during the sales process 
  • Capture and share recurring customer requirements, technical objections, integration needs, and product gaps with the Partnerships, Product, and Engineering functions 

  • Translate feedback from prospective customers into structured product insights and recommendations for the Product and Engineering functions 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, biomedical informatics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; Master’s in Computer Science or related field preferred

  • 3-5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, implementation, technical consulting, healthcare technology, or a related customer-facing technical role

  • Strong technical foundation with the ability to understand APIs, integrations, cloud architectures, data flows, and enterprise software systems

  • Extensive experience translating business requirements into technical solutions

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Extensive experience working directly with customers or external partners

  • Ability to operate effectively in an early-stage environment with evolving products, processes, and priorities

  • Experience working with health systems, healthcare technology companies, EHR vendors, or digital health organizations is preferred

Annual Salary:

$130,000 - $145,000 USD

Work Location PolicyCurrently, we expect employees based in Durham to work from our office at least 3x a week. Employees who live outside of a 50-mile radius from our office may work remotely on a full-time basis with some travel to our office based on the needs of their function.
