Marketing Designer – 3D Visualization Specialist (6 month contract)

Woburn, Massachusetts, United States

WHY VEIR?

Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts, VEIR is a U.S.-based designer and manufacturer of category-defining superconducting power delivery systems built for the extreme energy demands of the AI era. By commercializing next-generation superconducting technology into deployable, real-world systems, VEIR delivers ~10× higher power density than conventional options, enabling “speed-to-power” where incremental optimization falls short. VEIR’s initial focus is AI data centers behind the meter, with solutions engineered for repeatable deployment through reference designs and integrated controls, designed to incorporate learnings as deployments scale.

The Role
We are seeking a talented Marketing Designer and 3D Visualization Specialist for a 6-month contract engagement to own all visual communication for VEIR, with the potential to convert to a full-time role at the end of the contract. You'll create everything from polished product renderings and application imagery to marketing collateral, technical documentation, infographics, and web assets. You'll work closely with our Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Commercial teams to translate complex power delivery systems into visually compelling assets for EPC engineers, power management professionals, and hyperscaler buyers. During the contract, you'll help establish VEIR's design discipline and build the visual design systems the company can use to scale.

Contract Details

  • Engagement type: 6-month contract (potential for conversion based on business needs)
  • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Compensation: Equivalent to $110,000 annual salary
  • Benefits Eligible
  • Location: On-Site/Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end 3D product visualization, taking CAD files from Engineering and creating photorealistic product renderings and in-application imagery for sales enablement, marketing collateral, and web.
  • Manage render output, file formats, quality control, and asset libraries for reuse across product families.
  • Design and deliver creative assets across all marketing channels: web, email, technical documentation, sales enablement, presentations, infographics, and internal communications.
  • Translate complex product specifications and engineering concepts into visually compelling, technically accurate narratives that resonate with technical buyers and infrastructure professionals.
  • Develop creative solutions that maintain brand consistency while adapting messaging and visuals for different audiences (technical buyers, investors, internal stakeholders) and product families.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales on creative direction; manage multiple stakeholder feedback cycles and competing priorities.
  • Create and refine visual systems, templates, and design standards that support scalable marketing execution across products, regions, and channels; own consistency across datasheets, brochures, whitepapers, and web assets.
  • Apply UX principles, accessibility standards, and usability best practices to maximize effectiveness of marketing communications and digital experiences.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously; communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences; prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Research and implement emerging design tools and techniques to enhance VEIR's creative capabilities.

In the first 3 months you'll

  • Learn VEIR's product architecture, thermal systems, and power delivery challenges; build foundational knowledge of our customer base (hyperscalers, data center owners and operators, OEMs, EPC firms, utilities)
  • Establish workflows and collaboration processes with Engineering and Product teams; set up CAD handoff procedures and rendering pipeline
  • Deliver multiple polished product renders per week from CAD files using Blender; establish quality standards and documentation
  • Create initial design templates and build reusable components for collateral
  • Ship 5-10 marketing assets (datasheets, infographics, web graphics) that demonstrate your ability to translate technical concepts visually
  • Take feedback from multiple stakeholders and iterate rapidly; demonstrate flexibility and strong communication

In the first 6 months you'll

  • Achieve 80%+ of product renders produced in-house; identify which specialized work should be outsourced to partners
  • Build and document a comprehensive design system (brand guidelines, component library, template suite) for consistent use across all collateral
  • Enable Sales and Marketing teams with self-serve templates that reduce design turnaround and increase independence
  • Deliver polished renders and marketing assets on a predictable schedule; reduce design iteration cycles through clear upfront requirements and stakeholder alignment
  • Mentor cross-functional teams on visual best practices; establish yourself as an expert on how VEIR communicates visually
  • Contribute to product positioning and messaging through visual strategy; ensure design choices support overall marketing narrative
  • Own a portfolio of high-impact marketing assets that demonstrably support Sales pipeline and brand positioning

To be successful in this role

You bring:

  • 4-6 years of professional design experience with demonstrated expertise in product visualization, 3D rendering, or technical product design
  • Expert proficiency in Blender with a strong portfolio demonstrating photorealistic product renderings at professional quality
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop); experience with XD or other prototyping tools a plus
  • Proven ability to work from CAD or technical files and translate them into marketing-ready 3D visualizations and technical illustrations
  • Strong foundation in lighting, materials, rendering principles, visual hierarchy, typography, and color theory
  • Portfolio that demonstrates photorealistic product renderings, technical product visualization, brand consistency, and thoughtful marketing collateral design
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams (engineers, product managers); skilled in asking clarifying questions and translating complex specifications into visual narratives
  • Demonstrated project management capability; ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects and deliver quality work under deadline
  • Collaborative mindset; experience working with cross-functional technical teams and iterating on feedback without becoming defensive

You are:

  • Systems thinker who can see patterns and build scalable solutions (design systems, templates, processes) rather than one-off solutions
  • Entrepreneurial and comfortable establishing new disciplines from scratch; excited about building something that didn't exist before
  • Intellectually curious about our industry; driven to understand power delivery, thermal management, and data center infrastructure
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration; thrive in startup environments where requirements evolve and priorities shift
  • Strong communicator who can explain design rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Growth-oriented; willing to learn new tools and techniques (motion graphics, web design, animation) as VEIR's needs evolve
  • Passionate about quality and attention to detail; take pride in the work shipping under your name
  • Kind collaborator who assumes positive intent and resolves conflicts constructively

Nice to have (not required):

  • Experience in B2B technical, infrastructure, manufacturing, or industrial product marketing
  • Portfolio demonstrating 3D product renders for technical or complex industrial products
  • Familiarity with CAD software workflows and technical drawing interpretation (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
  • Basic web design experience (HTML/CSS familiarity, Webflow, or site builders); comfort with web asset management and optimization
  • Motion graphics, animation, or interactive web component experience
  • Experience developing and maintaining design systems, brand guidelines, or template libraries at scale
  • Basic video editing or motion graphics assembly skills

Required software: Blender (primary 3D tool), Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
