The Senior Vice Present (SVP), Data Strategy is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the data strategy, insights and data solutions across Velir. This position is a thought leader focused on ensuring all clients leverage data as a key asset to drive decision-making, operational efficiency, and innovation. This role involves developing and implementing data frameworks and technologies to enhance data quality, accessibility, and security. Responsibilities include aligning data architecture with business operations, driving data-driven decisions, and mentoring talent while ensuring effective collaboration across teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of a scalable, secure data architecture.
- Work closely with senior leaders across departments to understand data needs and opportunities for insights.
- Drive the use of data to inform decision-making, enhance business performance, and support innovation.
- Partner with clients to ensure their data infrastructure supports their current and future business needs, leveraging the latest tools and technologies in data storage, processing, and retrieval.
- Build and lead a high-performing data team, including data scientists, analysts, engineers, and governance specialists.
- Foster a culture of data literacy across the organization, promoting the value and use of data in daily operations.
- Participate and help lead data growth related efforts with existing clients and prospects, support a team culture of growth.
- Ensure data security and privacy policies align with industry standards and legal requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Collaborate with IT and legal teams to protect data from breaches and ensure compliance with data-related regulations.
- Work closely Client Services to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements and innovations.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in data technologies, analytics tools, and industry best practices.
- Actively participate in thought leadership, internally and externally, ensuring alignment with the organization’s broader goals.
- Identify and recommend new technologies or methodologies to drive data-driven business transformation.
- Handle supplementary duties as necessary.
Skills & Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or PhD is a plus.
- Deep understanding in data management technologies, data modeling, and analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, Databrick, DBT, Tableau, Power BI)
- Ability to influence senior to executive level client relationships to solve complex business problems while reinforcing our value proposition as their lead strategic digital partner.
- Proven track record successfully leading and delivering complex, large-scale programs across diverse business functions.
- Strong background in implementing and managing delivery frameworks, quality standards, and continuous improvement processes.
- Excellent leadership and people management sills, with the ability to build and inspire high-performing teams.
- Strong leadership skills, demonstrating confidence when presenting various digital strategies, roadmaps, and partnering with SMEs.
- Strong business and financial acumen, understand the client’s business, industry, competition, company priorities and budgets, define success metrics and set goals.
- Experience clearing communicating the process of strategic initiatives to internal and external stakeholders, including skills to synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly.

Compensation Range: $200,000 - $225,000 annually
Please note that compensation packages are finalized after the interview process is concluded. We use a competency-based approach to base pay, which means it is based on the competencies and skills demonstrated for this role.
