Overview

Senior Technical Project Managers in the Production Support department are responsible for developing and reviewing technical specifications for website work and ensuring that day- to-day operations run smoothly. Senior Technical Project Managers act as a liaison for clients’ web marketing teams and Velir’s technical delivery team. 

Senior Technical Project Managers actively participate in the entire support development lifecycle over extended periods. Senior Technical Producers work closely with internal team members to identify challenges and recommend solutions.  Senior Technical Project Managers are knowledgeable about web and content management systems standards and best practices and work to apply these standards to solve a client's business needs.


Senior Technical Project Managers  will focus their contributions on strategic accounts for Velir. They will partner with Account Managers and VPs within Client Services to focus on growing these strategic accounts – both in terms of revenue and services provided by Velir.  Senior Technical Project Managers will assist in building account plans by providing input and direction as well as technical details and limitations.


Senior Technical Project Managers will work closely with the management team to define and document best practices of the role and will help mentor other Technical Producers to ensure a high quality of work is consistently delivered to Velir’s clients. Senior Technical Producers will partner with representatives within Client Services to ensure consistent standards are followed across all of Velir’s work with our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with account team to grow and expand successful client relationships
  • Manage all development phases of ongoing support engagements from requirements gathering through deployment
    • Gather business and functional requirements with client stakeholders
    • Document requirements and requested changes
    • Facilitate approval of requirements
  • Present solutions and recommendations based on client objectives
  • Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and generate ideas for client campaigns and web sites
  • Write clear and concise test cases for QA
  • Validate development work against requirements and lead client demonstrations
  • Lead project budgeting, planning, scheduling, contract adherence, risk management, and execution within budget and schedule
  • Partner with Client Services to build and execute account plans that offer new and enhanced services to clients
  • Mentor other Technical Producers in best practices
  • Partner with Client Services to ensure consistent delivery of work to clients

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in teams
  • Ability to manage multiple, ongoing project timelines and/or support Program Managers with larger projects/budgets
  • Must have moderate understanding of web development technologies (CMS, .NET, HTML/CSS/JS) but not necessarily the ability to program
  • Working knowledge of scoping & estimate creation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and manage project schedules and budgets
  • Knowledge of web design and development lifecycles
  • Knowledge of user experience concepts and web development trends
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing web projects
  • Experience using development management systems, ideally JIRA and Atlassian toolset
  • Experience working with content management systems from a delivery and editing standpoint

Compensation Range: $100,000 - 110,000 annually

Please note that compensation packages are finalized after the interview process is concluded. We use a competency-based approach to base pay, which means it is based on the competencies and skills demonstrated for this role.
