Community Manager
About Us:
Venice is the world’s leading consumer AI company built on principles of privacy, free speech, and user sovereignty.
We’re building the Port City of AI, in which millions of individuals, third party apps, and AI agents gather, interact, and access sophisticated AI resources. Our mission is to make artificial intelligence approachable and useful in everyday work—bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and practical, real-world impact.
We’re a fast-moving startup where every team member is expected to make a clear impact. Our culture is rooted in curiosity, ownership, ethical principle, philosophy, and collaboration—whether we’re designing better AI workflows, supporting our growing community, or shaping the future of human-AI interaction.
Joining Venice AI means joining a team of unorthodox builders who believe in moving quickly, delivering a beautiful and highly useful consumer product, and maintaining an edge in the rapidly evolving world of agentic machine intelligence. If you’re energized by big ideas, entrepreneurial spirit, individual empowerment, and the opportunity to help shape a company from the ground up, you’ll feel right at home here.
Why we are hiring
We are looking for someone to own the social relationship between Venice and its most engaged users, the people who show up in our Discord, Reddit, X, and at hackathons. You are the heart and soul of the Venice community: you curate the vibe, own the voice, and run our day-to-day social presence, acting as the feedback loop between the community and the product team. You turn passive users into advocates and holders into participants. This is a build role, not a moderation role.
This role reports to the VP of Marketing
Compensation: $100,000-120,000 + VVV + equity
What you’ll do
You are the single accountable owner for four things:
- Community Channels and Social Presence. Own Venice’s day-to-day presence across Discord, X, Reddit, and wherever the community moves next. Post, reply, and show up where the conversation is. This isn’t moderation; it’s community architecture and social craft: channel structure, rituals, the social content that sparks engagement, and the everyday presence that makes the community feel alive and attended to.
- Vibe, Voice, and Culture. Curate the vibe of the Venice community: the energy, the humor, the rituals, the feeling people get when they show up. Set and embody Venice’s voice across every channel, define the tone and personality, and train any moderators or ambassadors to hold that standard.
- Events and Programming. Run the community event calendar: AMAs, launch watch parties, holder Q&A sessions, community contests, and office hours. Own the format, the cadence, and the execution. Be a visible, active presence at hackathons and builder events too, even though the Ecosystem Lead owns running them.
- User and Holder Feedback Loop. Build the system that captures what users and holders are saying, synthesizes it, and routes it to product, growth, and leadership. You are the authoritative voice of the user inside Venice. Close the loop back to the community so they know they’re heard.
What you will not do
- Builder and developer ecosystem, grants, accelerator, API partnerships: Ecosystem Lead
- Hosting and running hackathons and builder events: Ecosystem Lead. You’re deeply involved as the community’s presence, but you don’t own the logistics.
- Paid marketing campaigns, performance marketing, ad spend: Marketing
- Social media content calendar (organic social strategy is shared; you own community channels, not the brand content calendar)
- Token partnership negotiations (listings, protocol deals): Ecosystem Lead
Who you are
Must-have
- You built a community (or three) from scratch or scaled significantly, not just moderated an existing one. You’ve owned community strategy, not just executed someone else’s.
- Deeply fluent in Discord, X, and Reddit culture. You know how communities form, how they fracture, and how to keep them healthy at scale.
- Hands-on social media experience. You’ve grown and run active social accounts (especially X), and you have real instincts for content, timing, and what makes a post land.
- A gift for vibe curation. You set the energy of a room, online or off, and people want to be where you are.
- Crypto-fluent. Venice’s community includes token holders; you understand that dynamic and speak the language.
- High social energy and visible presence. This is an always-on role: responsive and engaged across channels daily.
- Strong writing voice. You can be the voice of Venice in community spaces without sounding like a corporate account.
Strong bonus
- Experience building community for a consumer AI product, crypto project, or other high-growth tech community
- Experience with community tooling (Discord bots, analytics, sentiment tracking)
- Existing following or credibility in crypto-AI or privacy-tech communities
Not a fit if
- You’re looking for a moderation or support role. This is community building and strategy.
- You want to stay behind the scenes. This role requires a visible public presence.
- You can’t be reliably online and responsive across channels as a core part of your day
