Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. We are seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator with experience and knowledge in contract formation, management, and execution of large and complex equipment and services agreements.  The Senior Contracts Administrator will support negotiation of terms and conditions with major Original Equipment Manufacturers and Contractors, administer variation management, claims, reporting, acceptance and closeout processes for complex contracts associated with the Owner Furnished Equipment (OFE) contracts for the Company’s LNG projects. The Senior Contracts Administrator will participate in a multi-disciplinary team that provides contracts oversight, implementation, and support and, as necessary, assist members of other departments in relation to such matters.

The Senior Contracts Administrator will report to OFE Contracts leader and support the OFE Project Teams as necessary. This position will be located in Arlington, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle full lifecycle contract management for complex agreements, leading the drafting, redlining, and negotiation of terms and conditions with strategic contractors, in coordination with the OFE team.
  • Be Venture Global’s main point of contact with Original Equipment Manufacturers and Contractors during negotiation of new contracts, amendments, variation orders, and claims, as required.
  • Collaborate with Venture Global’s team of Subject Matter Experts to define strategies related to contracting, risk management, controls, and taxes, for all assigned new OFE agreements and/or amendments.
  • Act as liaison between OFE projects team and Venture Global Legal department for all assigned agreements, to jointly define the best legal and commercial strategies to support Venture Global’s goals and objectives.
  • Work with the OFE projects team to evaluate, negotiate and administer change orders, task orders, and amendments.
  • Administer all phases of new change order requests, including scope, price and schedule definition, contractual amendments drafting, internal reviews and approvals, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform entries, and execution, adhering to Venture Global’s Guidelines and Procedures.
  • Support the OFE Project Team in all claims related to defects, serial defects, warranty, and acceptance, amongst others. 
  • Take the lead on drafting official project notifications, as well as the coordination with technical and commercial experts, legal, and senior Management signoffs.
  • Monitor and review incoming official notices from strategic contractors and coordinate responses when necessary.
  • Enter and update contractual documents and requisitions in the CLM platform and obtain required approvals per Company’s DOA, as required, in coordination with the Sourcing and Procurement department.
  • Advise the OFE Project Team on contractual questions by performing contract analyses and internal checklists
  • Ensure that strategic agreements meet all contractual criteria required for partial and final acceptance and/or completion, by developing internal checklists and being the conduit for obtaining final approvals from Company’s senior Management team.
  • Receive and coordinate countersignature for all completion certificates issued by strategic contractors.
  • Support the closeout of OFE contracts in coordination with project controls, legal, and OFE Project team.
  • Develop and maintain contract documentation repositories.
  • Track and update all activities and progress on assigned activities in Company’s designated logs.
  • Review and coordinate requests related to proof in insurance to be provided by the Company for strategic contracts.
  • Attend change orders management internal and external meetings, as required.
  • Attending project kick off meetings, project progress internal and external review meetings, costs review meetings, and quality reviews.
  • Support other contract administration tasks assigned by the OFE Contracts leader.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Business or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience with contract / subcontracts management and negotiation in the LNG, power, oil and gas, industrial, or construction industries.
  • Knowledge of contract agreements, legal and commercial requirements involved in contracts, invoicing and change order processes.
  • Able to effectively communicate across various disciplines and with contract counterparties.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to spot issues and risks and escalate when appropriate.
  • Excellent writing skills, including drafting of contractual documents.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage commercially sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with team members and take direction in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
