Role Overview

The Analyst, Material Master Data will own and maintain the inputs to the SAP Material Master database. The Analyst, Material Master Data will be responsible for the governance and administration of the Material Master including the execution of the processes, procedures and activities under which records are created, updated, and cleared from the SAP Material Master.

Key Responsibilities
•    Ensure the designated workflow process for updates to the SAP Material Master is being adhered to and take action to update this workflow process based on changes in the Master Data Governance policies.
•    Create and maintain material master records in SAP, ensuring all required fields are complete, accurate, and aligned with company standards.
•    Organize the upload of initial spare parts lists (SPIR or SPIL) for Projects and Post Project Closeouts.
•    Review and validate requests for new material creation to prevent duplicate or incorrect material records and resolve any issues with the SAP Material Master data accuracy or completeness.
•    Facilitate periodic updates to the SAP Material Master data to ensure accuracy of part attributes including unit of measure, material type, valuation class, lead times, financial value, inventory planning levels (reorder points), sourcing rules, etc.
•    Coordinate with other departments to gather inputs necessary to complete the SAP Material Master data including part numbers, sourcing rules, pricing, weights, dimensions, descriptions, photos, etc.
•    Maintain documentation and audit trails for material creation, changes, and deletions in accordance with company procedures.
•    Assist with data cleanup initiatives, including removal of obsolete materials and consolidation of duplicate records.
•    Prepare periodic reports or metrics depicting the Material Master content, accuracy, and completeness.
•    Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance data quality, standardization, and system usability.
•    Perform other duties assigned.

Qualifications
•    5+ years of experience in material master data roles for planning, inventory management, purchasing, or a related position for projects, operations, or industrial manufacturing organizations.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline.
•    Pursuing or certified in an accredited Supply Chain or Asset Management program (CSCP, CPIM, etc.).
•    Strong organizational, attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
•    Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and present key details and conclusions.
•    Possess strong interpersonal skills to maintain productive vendor relationships, organize and teal meetings and present updates to leadership.
•    Comfort being part of a team environment with rapidly changing assignments and priorities.
•    Strong proficiency in the use and manipulation of MS Office tools including Excel, BI dashboards, etc.
•    Advanced experience utilizing material management platforms, e.g. MDO and SAP Materials Management “MM” modules or similar. 
•    Periodic domestic USA travel may be required, ~10% to support projects and remote teams.
•    Work Hours: 7AM – 4 PM, In office Monday – Friday; some overtime and weekend hours may be required.
