Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects will service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. We are seeking a Specialist, Expense Compliance, to join our Shared Services team in the Accounting and Tax department. This position will report to the Manager, Travel & Expense, Shared Services and be located in the Arlington, VA headquarters office.

 

The position supports the Venture Global Travel & Expense (T&E) program by reviewing employee expense reports for accuracy and policy compliance.  This role focuses on detailed review, documentation validation, and consistent application of company policy, assisting employees with questions related to expense reports, travel reservations, and training on the Concur booking tool.

 

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable working in a structured, fast paced and high-volume environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Expense Review & Compliance Oversight
  • Review employee expense reports in Concur for accuracy, completeness and compliance with company policy
  • Verify receipt documentation and proper itemization
  • Confirm accurate expense cost coding and business purpose descriptions
  • Return reports requiring corrections to employees with clear and concise instructions
  • Identify duplicate, excessive, or out-of-policy transactions
  • Ensure timely processing within established internal service level agreements

 

  • Policy Support
  • Fully understand and consistently apply the Travel & Expense policy requirements
  • Escalate unusual or repeat non-compliance issues to Manager, Travel & Expense
  • Support corporate card compliance monitoring
  • Assist with identifying and raising questionable or improper transactions

 

  • Administrative & Reporting Support
  • Track and report on the team’s KPI metrics – timely expense report submissions, manager approvals, and other key performance indicators
  • Analyze expense data for spending trends, potential misuse, and cost savings
  • Assist with expense report review backlog management
  • Support external audit documentation requests as needed
  • Help maintain internal procedure documentation

 

  • Employee Support
  • Respond to employee questions regarding expense report submission requirements and processes
  • Provide guidance on receipt documentation and policy interpretation
  • Support employee training initiatives on the Concur booking tool and corporate policy compliance as assigned

 

  • Collaborate and trouble shoot on issues with Concur and the travel management company as needed

 

  • Other duties as required and assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in travel and expense report auditing and compliance in a Concur or similar T&E platform is a plus
  • Ability to apply the corporate travel policy objectively and professionally
  • Ability to organize and plan work effectively to meet goals and objectives
  • Fundamental understanding of internal controls and financial compliance principles
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft suite programs
  • Ability to work independently within defined guidelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
