We are seeking qualified applicants for the position of Pipeline Training Manager located in Houston, TX.

General Description:

The Pipeline Training Manager is responsible for managing the training and competency development programs for VG pipeline assets. This position ensures the effective delivery of training and competency assurance activities. The Training Manager plays a key role in maintaining workforce readiness, compliance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Management:
    • Develop, implement, and oversee site-specific training programs to support technical staff development.
    • Ensure training programs align with company goals, operational requirements, and industry best practices.
    • Management and tracking of Operator Qualifications within identified LMS.
    • Maintain consistency across training programs at multiple facilities.
  • Competency Assurance:
    • Design and deliver competency assessments to ensure employees meet the required standards for their roles.
    • Collaborate with operations management to identify skill gaps and recommend training interventions.
    • Maintain records of employee competencies and certifications in the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Training Delivery:
    • Supervise the delivery of training programs, including classroom, on-the-job, and simulation-based training.
    • Ensure technical trainers address key operational, maintenance, and safety requirements.
    • Oversee non-technical training, as necessary, including HSSE and regulatory compliance training.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Partner with pipeline leadership, operations, maintenance, and safety teams to identify training needs and ensure alignment of objectives.
  • Administrative Oversight:
    • Manage training schedules, logistics, and documentation.
    • Ensure accurate tracking of training participation, completion, and certification/OQ renewals.
    • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to maintain awareness of personnel compliance.
    • Coordinates regulatory training courses and reporting for all personnel assigned to the facility.
    • Evaluate the Venture Global Learning Management System and work with LMS administrator to identify issues and potential improvement opportunities related to Pipeline training.
    • Assist in the quoting, validating, scheduling and processing of invoices for external vendor training programs at the facility.
  • Compliance & Standards:
    • Ensure training programs meet all regulatory and company-specific compliance requirements.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and recommend improvements to training
    • Assist in regular audits and verification of training compliance, materials and records, by providing reports and evidence to support audit activities. 
    • Accountable for the scheduling of monthly, quarterly, and annual HSSE training to maintain compliance.

Qualifications:

Education and Certifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training & Development, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in training and development, preferably in the pipeline industry.
  • Experience overseeing training programs.
  • Strong knowledge of competency assurance and technical training.
  • Experience with OSHA, EPA, FERC, DOT, and PHMSA rules and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory training requirements and reporting within an operating environment.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with Natural Gas Pipeline operations, including operator qualification and emergency response.
  • Certification in Training and Development a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design.
