
Technician, PTW
Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.
We are seeking a contract based PTW Technician to join us within the Projects team in Cameron, LA.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and issue permits to work in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements
- Review work requests to identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented
- Coordinate with requesters, area authorities, and subject matter experts to ensure permits contain accurate information and adequate controls
- Conduct pre-work verification to confirm isolation requirements, safety precautions, and permit conditions are properly established
- Monitor active permits and conduct field inspections to verify compliance with permit requirements
- Support the coordination of simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) to identify and mitigate potential work conflicts
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all permit activities and associated records
- Participate in daily permit coordination meetings to facilitate effective work planning
- Assist in conducting risk assessments and developing job safety analyses for permitted work
- Support the continuous improvement of the PTW system through feedback and identification of opportunities for enhancement
- Ensure proper permit closure processes are followed, including confirmation of site restoration and equipment status
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience writing permits in industrial construction, operations, or maintenance environments
- Working knowledge of permit to work systems and procedures
- Understanding of hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to procedural compliance
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse teams
- Basic understanding of operational processes and equipment in industrial settings
- Computer literacy and experience with electronic permit to work systems
- Technical diploma or certificate in a relevant field desirable
