Lead the Future of Healthcare Data Partnerships

As the Director of Business Development at Verana Health, you will be the driving force behind expanding our relationships with leading life science organizations and accelerating the use of our data and analytics solutions. You will shape the commercialization strategy for our exclusive real-world data network, directly improving patient care and drug development. 

You will join a dynamic, mission-driven team and report to the VP of Sales, collaborating with leaders across Verana to deliver value to our clients and the broader healthcare ecosystem. This is a remote position.

What You Get to Do

  • Develop strategic plans to identify, pursue, and close new partnerships with top life science companies.
  • Build and manage a sales pipeline, meeting bookings and revenue targets.
  • Cultivate meaningful, consultative relationships with main decision-makers and partners across pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations.
  • Lead complex negotiations and contract discussions, structuring win-win partnerships that align with both client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Pre-Sales, Product, Marketing, Quantitative Science, and Medical teams to tailor solutions for client challenges.
  • Represent Verana Health as a subject matter expert in healthcare data, analytics, and licensing, delivering compelling presentations and expertise.
  • Monitor and respond to competitive dynamics, positioning Verana Health as the preferred partner for real-world data and insights.
  • Lead all stages of the sales cycle, from prospecting and proposal development to contract execution and project implementation.

Experience that Will Help You Succeed

  • Consultative sales approach with experience developing new business opportunities.
  • Experience with the healthcare data and analytics landscape, including experience selling data assets (medical claims, EMR) and analytics applications to pharmaceutical companies.
  • Relationship-building and responsibility for negotiation at the executive level.
  • Collaborative mindset, with experience working across legal, compliance, business, and technical teams to structure partnerships.
  • Comfort operating in the of a startup.

Essential Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales within the healthcare industry, with a focus on selling data and analytics solutions to top pharmaceutical companies.
  • Record of exceeding annual revenue and quota targets.
  • Experience leading contract negotiations and structuring complex, compliant partnerships.
  • 5+ years managing client relationships from lead through implementation.
  • Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements in healthcare and life sciences.
  • Experience in ophthalmology, neurology, or urology.

$180,000 - $180,000 USD
