Technical Consultant
About The Role:
Vercel is looking for a Technical Consultant to provide strategic technical guidance and expertise for our Enterprise customers. As a named account owner, you will ensure customers are adopting Vercel-first solutions, following best practices, and leveraging the platform effectively to build high-performance, scalable web applications.
In this role, you will be responsible for executing technical success initiatives, proactively identifying customer challenges, and using a suite of tools and motions to drive adoption and optimization. You will play a critical role in influencing customer decisions, driving them to adopt best practices, championing web excellence, and ensuring they achieve long-term success on Vercel.
You will also collaborate with Customer Success Managers to align technical strategy with business objectives, and partner with Product and Engineering to remove blockers and provide structured feedback to enhance Vercel’s platform and offerings.
What You Will Do:
- Own the technical relationship for assigned Enterprise accounts, ensuring customers are set up for long-term success.
- Advocate for Vercel-first solutions, guiding customers toward best practices and feature adoption.
- Conduct technical assessments, troubleshooting, and performance evaluations to proactively identify areas for improvement.
- Provide implementation guidance on architecture, scalability, and optimization strategies.
- Work closely with Customer Success Managers to align on customer goals and drive technical initiatives.
- Surface structured feedback from customer engagements to influence Vercel’s product roadmap.
- Contribute to internal enablement efforts, sharing technical insights and best practices to help scale the Technical Consulting function.
- Support cross-functional initiatives that enhance customer experience and streamline internal workflows.
About You:
- 5+ years of experience in frontend development, technical consulting, solutions engineering, or a related role.
- Experience with Vercel, React, and modern web performance best practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges, optimize performance, and provide structured implementation guidance.
- Experience driving customer adoption of best practices, influencing technical decisions, and leading customer-facing initiatives.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams.
- Passion for helping customers succeed, solving technical problems, and advocating for scalable solutions.
Bonus If You:
- Have experience working with Vercel Enterprise, Next.js, or similar frontend hosting platforms.
- Have a background in web performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and large-scale frontend applications.
- Understand incident management, procedural communication, and enterprise-level technical consulting.
- Have contributed to open-source projects, technical documentation, or developer enablement initiatives.
- Are comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with global teams.
The San Francisco, CA pay range for this role is $149,000.00 - $222,000.00 OTE. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation.
