Director of Demand Generation
About Vercel:
Vercel’s Frontend Cloud provides the developer experience and infrastructure to build, scale, and secure a faster, more personalized web. Customers like Under Armour, eBay, The Washington Post, Johnson & Johnson, and Zapier use Vercel to build dynamic user experiences on the web.
At Vercel, our mission is to enable the world to ship the best products and that goes hand in hand with creating an environment where you can do the best work of your life.
About the Role:
Vercel is looking for a Director of Demand Generation to develop the strategy and oversee execution of programs that target prospective & current buyers, create awareness, generate leads, and engage with our sales & customer success organization. Your role is to work strategically to increase conversions and generate net new and expansion pipeline globally by building integrated marketing campaigns, optimizing our declared intent funnel, accelerating our product-led Sales motion, and automated outbound plays.
We’re looking for a highly strategic, modern Demand Gen leader that has a strong track record of building high-performing Demand Generation, Field Marketing and/or Partner Marketing teams at a developer tools company. Hitting aggressive revenue targets in a rapid and high-growth startup environment must be your happy place. You can easily pivot between high-level strategic thinking and vision setting while also being the executor with an eye on the details and getting your hands into data.
What You Will Do:
-
Collaborate with leaders on GTM strategy. Align with Sales and Customer Success Leadership on priorities and develop the strategy, planning and execution of Vercel’s integrated demand generation model, budget and plan to hit quarterly pipeline within our ICP. This includes tight coordination of inbound, product-led, and outbound outreach pre and post programs to maximize pipeline creation.
-
Ship quality developer-focused integrated campaigns.
Work with Product Marketing, Brand Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to strategize and ship integrated campaigns through a results-driven approach, both in existing channels and by experimenting with new channels/techniques, that support enterprise pipeline goals.
-
Conversion Rate Optimization.
Own objectives across the marketing funnel—Inquiry to SQO to Closed Won—track and optimize performance at each stage in the funnel, and create a predictable demand generation engine. You must be fluent in inbound and product-led sales optimization strategies to accelerate pipeline generation efforts.
-
Build end-to-end funnel programs that convert.
Push our communications to the next level using data-driven decision making and creativity. You'll identify the most effective channel, marketing message, value proposition, materials, and call to action for specific personas and target segments.
-
Partner with Analytics & MOPs to build for scale.
Partner with Analytics & RevOps teams on developing and tracking key metrics including marketing performance measurement, budgeting, strategic planning, process definition, and marketing systems/data.
-
Own the demand funnel analysis.
You will live and breathe our enterprise demand funnel—diagnosing pipeline generation issues and proactively solving them. You will also be the face of marketing enterprise pipeline reporting to the GTM—requiring you to define KPIS and implement measurement, analysis, benchmarking and reporting methods to gauge success.
-
Alignment with Sales
Ensure highly productive relationship with Sales, forging exemplary communication and aligning on campaign and target account strategy—we are the same team.
About You:
- Deep understanding of the developer ecosystem and the frontend development landscape.
- Passion for open source (bonus if Next.js) and a deep understanding of the Vercel platform and its value proposition.
