About the Role:

This role is onsite in our SF location (5x a week) to effectively collaborate with our team and support our office's IT needs. 

Vercel is growing quickly, and so is the demand on our IT team. We’re looking for an IT Operations Engineer to help support and scale the day-to-day technology experience for our San Francisco office. You’ll be the go-to person for IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, AV, onboarding, and access-related issues while helping ensure employees can do their best work.

Beyond day-to-day support, you’ll contribute to broader IT initiatives and operational improvements that impact both local and global teams. We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, takes ownership, enjoys solving problems, and is excited to help build scalable IT experiences as the company grows.

AI fluency is a core expectation at Vercel. We expect AI tools to be part of your daily workflow, whether that’s automating tasks, writing scripts, drafting documentation, troubleshooting issues, or improving operational efficiency.

What You Will Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for IT support across in-office and remote employees, troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, AV, and access-related issues.
  • Support and maintain IT infrastructure including workstations, conference rooms, endpoint management systems, network devices, and software applications.
  • Manage and prioritize requests through IT ticketing systems while maintaining strong communication and response times.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding workflows, account provisioning, access controls, and equipment setup.
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams like Workplace, People, Security, Recruiting, and Engineering to support company operations and initiatives.
  • Assist with office AV, Zoom Rooms, events, and conference room support.
  • Contribute to infrastructure improvements, automation, documentation, operational scaling, and new technology rollouts.
  • Use AI tools regularly to automate workflows, troubleshoot issues, draft documentation, write scripts, and improve operational efficiency.

About You

  • 2+ years of full-time experience in IT support, IT operations, or systems administration, ideally in a startup or fast-paced tech environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across macOS, networking, endpoint management, AV systems, and security best practices.
  • Comfortable using AI tools as part of your daily workflow to move faster and work more efficiently.
  • Clear communicator with strong customer-service instincts and the ability to support both technical and non-technical employees.
  • Organized, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities in high-growth environments.
  • Security-conscious with strong attention to detail, documentation, and operational follow-through.
  • Hands-on, collaborative, and eager to continuously learn and grow alongside the company.

Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $116,000 - $174,000. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role.
