Job Responsibilities:
- Assist lab and business operations and infrastructure mapping (e.g., freezer location and inventory tracking)
- Support lab construction, including minor/major installations (e.g., electrical outlets, gas lines)
- Review vendor technical documents – interface methods, etc.; and ensure alignment with Merck DI and technical standards
- Manage the selection, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of OEM and PLC-based lab and facility equipment
- Support automated lab workflows, robotics, and control systems in the lab environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in laboratory operations, technical support, or facilities management in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries
- Expertise with OEM equipment management, and PLC systems for lab or industrial equipment
- Technical expertise of lab and manufacturing infrastructure systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and gas lines
- Familiarity with automation tools, CMMS platforms, and data acquisition systems
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and interface with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Experience with GxP environments, including equipment qualification and validation
- Experience with robotics and lab automation systems

The actual salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, market demand, and competitive market practice. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
