Supply Chain Associate Responsibilities:
This role manages finished stock inventory for the U.S. Sales Affiliate, Canada (CA) and Puerto Rico (PR). The individual will work with supplying plant sites and the marketing brand teams/Affiliate representatives to ensure proper inventory levels to enable each support Sales Affiliate to meet its customer service targets and other goals and objectives. Additional responsibilities can include any or all the following:
- oversight of external distribution partners
- balancing inventory between the logistics organization distribution sites to maximize customer service and minimize product obsolescence
- supporting new product launches and packaging changes
- productivity improvement projects
- safety involvement
- metrics reporting
- master data stewardship
- implementation of new GBIP releases as required
To meet these customer requirements, this position requires an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, distribution, manufacturing and sales practices as well as logistics/traffic, warehousing, regulatory compliance (including PDMA, cGMP, Sarbanes-Oxley and Special Security Substance administration) finance, quality assurance and all associated systems.
The Supply Chain Associate:
- SAFETY - Performs tasks in a safe manner – follows all ergonomic guidelines, including early reporting of injuries - Contributes to advancing safety in NALO.
- INVENTORY MANAGEMENT - Manages finished goods safety stocks and inventory for Sales Affiliate (examples include managing safety stock changes, obsolete, potentially obsolete inventory, slow moving inventory, etc.). Serves as key point of contact with the Sales Affiliates on inventory management - and works to engage brand teams on decisions surrounding inventory management and supply planning, including during times of product supply issues and packaging changes. Ensures successful launches, packaging changes, transitions and discontinuation of products for the Sales Affiliate. During times of supply constraint, works with US Affiliate and Customer Service to determine allocation of inventory to customers.
- OSSCE - Actively participates in Affiliate OSSCE processes, certification, and maintenance (including involvement in S&OP meetings and tracking metrics on customer service, inventory management, etc.)
- CUSTOMER SERVICE - Has a working knowledge of key customer service activities to provide guidance around inventory-related topics/interactions.
- PROCESS OWNERSHIP/IMPROVEMENT - Helps develop/improve processes to continually adapt to our changing business so that we may be as effective and efficient as possible. Serves as a process owner for key inventory-related/customer service-related functions.
- METRICS/COMMUNICATION: Actively supports requests from Affiliate and Supply Chain/Mfg for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly and ad hoc customer shipment and inventory reports and other metrics info.
- Influences outcomes to better align Mfg/Distribution/Affiliate on supply, inventory, customer service, and product transition issues.
- Lead and participate in projects to improve productivity of NASSC. Accountable for responsible tasks, including ensuring process documentation to enable team members to backup your tasks if needed.
- Work as a team to ensure all area goals and customer needs are met – be flexible and have a positive attitude.
- Comply with all Special Security Substance, Sarbanes-Oxley, cGMP regulations, PDMA, and other regulatory requirements. This includes Redbook and clean desk policies.
- Manage finished goods stock transfer process and ensure appropriate inventory levels at all distribution centers (includes significant SAP interaction).
- Oversight of external distribution partners to ensure they are meeting defined objectives, to manage process improvement activities, etc.
- Responsible for ensuring data integrity and good documentation practices while performing job tasks.
- Create and manage material master data for promotional materials
- Create and manage customer master data
- Perform transactional work as required (inventory reports, loading orders, enter manual orders, new stock orders, re-orders, stock transfers, scrapping, create/discontinue materials in SAP, etc.)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks at once
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Proficient in use of MS Office and emailing systems
- Demonstrated analytical ability
- Pro-actively identifies and works with others to resolve issues
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of people and has successfully worked in a team environment
- Ability to work onsite in Plainfield, IN from Sunday through Thursday from 11:00am - 8:00pm
Additional Skills / Preferences:
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Five years of Materials Management / Lilly Supply Chain experience
- MRPII knowledge
- APICS CPIM certification

The actual salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, market demand, and competitive market practice. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
