Director - IT Verista

Job Function:

The Director, IT maintains primary responsibility for enterprise business systems strategy and delivery.  The incumbent will plan, direct, coordinate, and execute activities in the IT and Enterprise systems department, ensuring the development and implementation of a technical strategy that provides business value by delivering superior ERP and IT Infrastructure solutions to meet the business needs and improve our operations.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

The primary expectations for this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Establishing the strategic direction of the company’s enterprise systems; executes this strategy in collaboration with company leadership.
  • Creating a roadmap and timing of implementation of the roadmap based on business requirements and strategy and budgetary allowances.
  • Directing the planning and coordination of enterprise-wide systems (including SalesForce, Certinia, Datarails and all internal IT systems and software) in functional areas including service lines, finance, human resources, marketing, etc.  The IT organization will serve the business process owners and enable highly efficient operations with each department lead being the “client” of this department.
  • Responsible for hands on management of Verista’s Microsoft environment, including Azure, Entra, SharePoint, Power Automat and Power BI.
  • Responsible for streamlining business processes, presenting best practices, and partnering with vendors to identify and implement various ERP applications and IT systems.
  • Preparing system development cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.
  • Maintain system documentation and training business users.
  • Will lead IT and ERP system integration efforts for merger and acquisition activities.
  • Defining and developing IT staff to provide high quality application solutions to end users.
  • With a small internal team, this role is expected to take a hands-on approach to managing our ERP system (SF/Certinia).
  • Expected to support the management of our Financial reporting system (Datarails).
  • Partnering with the organizational stake holders to align and prioritize current and future IT and ERP initiatives in support of the business objectives.
  • Responsible for building and facility security
  • Implement and maintain IT policies to ensure compliance, protection, industry standard.
  • Ensure IT systems and networks are compliant for security and controls.
  • Stay abreast of upgrades and new technologies.  Manages all business applications upgrades to ensure all applications are up to date including the latest versions; assess impact and coordinate training with the business.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to further improve user experiences, enterprise integration, performance and scalability, and product qualities and development efficiencies. Research and recommend alternate solutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires the following skills/job knowledge:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical (STEM) discipline or Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other industry-related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Required Skills:
    • 15+ years experience supporting roles in field
    • Proven experience supporting an ERP system environment.
    • Experience implementing systems such as Microsoft applications, such as SharePoint.
    • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of systems
    • Ability to effectively communicate technical strategies to senior executives and actively participate in business strategy development is an essential requirement.
    • Experience in appraising business needs in a changing environment, and being able to introduce fast and flexible solutions
    • Experience in Project Management; managing numerous projects ranging from $50K to in excess of $5MM
    • Prior supervisory experience managing at least 20 people and at least 3-5 direct reports
  • Required Abilities:

    • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Project, Word, Excel, and Visio skills required.

Supervisory Requirements:

This position may be responsible for supervision of approximately 2-4 direct reports.  As a manager, the position is responsible for:

  • Completing each direct report employee’s performance management plan
  • Reviewing and approving performance management plan for all employees in your group
  • Providing bi-annual employee reviews to direct reports
  • Provide comments and review executive recommendations for employee merit increases and yearly bonuses based upon corporate, division, and individual performance results
  • Working with HR and leadership related to career development plans for all service line resources, including succession planning.
  • Identify any training gaps and work closely with HR and Training to resolve them.

Work Environment/Travel Expectations:

  • FLSA executive and professional positions paid on salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks in excess of 40 hours (including weekends or holidays)
  • Ability to travel as required in support of internal projects and priorities.
  • Significant desk work on a computer
  • Lifting requirements – 35 lbs. per OSHA requirements
  • Internal priorities and tight project requirements may demand significant hours beyond 40 and hours on the weekend. Average work hours are approximately 45-50 hours/week.

The actual salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, market demand, and competitive market practice. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
