The Project Engineer will work with Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, Operations, and other stakeholders to evaluate existing assets, confirm equipment status and criticality, coordinate decommissioning activities, and ensure asset records and retirement documentation are accurate and complete.  The scope may include facility and utility equipment such as air chillers, HVAC systems, and related mechanical assets. Some activities may be coordinated with planned facility shutdowns.

Project Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Support the assessment, verification, and retirement of obsolete facility and utility equipment.

  • Perform field verification of assets, including chillers, HVAC equipment, and associated systems.

  • Review equipment condition, operational status, utilization, and criticality to determine appropriate lifecycle disposition.

  • Develop and maintain documentation supporting equipment decommissioning and retirement.

  • Coordinate asset retirement activities with Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, Operations, and other stakeholders.

  • Provide project management support, including scope development, scheduling, action tracking, stakeholder coordination, and status reporting.

  • Coordinate retirement/decommissioning activities around facility shutdown schedules when required.

  • Update equipment status, asset information, and retirement records within the applicable asset management/system-of-record platform.

  • Ensure asset lifecycle records are accurate, complete, and appropriately documented.

  • Identify discrepancies between physical equipment and asset-management records and drive resolution.

  • Support planning and execution of equipment retirement activities while minimizing impact to ongoing site operations.

  • Maintain clear and organized project and engineering documentation.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of relevant engineering/project engineering experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline preferred.

  • Experience supporting facility equipment, utilities, HVAC, chillers, or mechanical systems in an industrial or regulated environment.

  • Experience with equipment lifecycle management, asset retirement, decommissioning, or asset management strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated project management experience, including coordination of multiple stakeholders, schedules, deliverables, and action items.

  • Ability to perform equipment walkdowns and reconcile field conditions against asset-management records.

  • Experience working with computerized asset management, maintenance, or equipment lifecycle systems preferred.

  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other GMP-regulated industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong documentation, organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Ability to independently drive projects and follow activities through completion.

The actual salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, market demand, and competitive market practice. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
