GSVS VETERINARY EMERGENCY SERVICES TOMS RIVER is excited to announce we are hiring a Veterinary Assistant for our brand-new Emergent clinic!
Hours: Thursday - Saturday, 8am - 6pm or Sunday - Wednesday, 8am - 7pm

Veterinary Assistants work alongside licensed veterinary technicians, and emergency doctors, have access to the most advanced diagnostic tools to provide the best possible care. On any given day, you can expect to do the following as a veterinary assistant:
- Provide support to doctors and technicians
- Restrain patients for exams and procedures
- Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
- Monitor and document patient’s vital signs
- Assist with obtaining radiographs
- Properly use and maintain hospital equipment
Once these skills are mastered and trust with the team is built, with continued oversight and training, you can expect to begin learning how to:
- Perform medical math calculations
- Provide high level nursing care to all patients
- Administer medications
- Place IVCs and obtain blood samples from various access points
About you:
- At least 1 year of veterinary experience is required
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to work well in a highly collaborative environment
- Commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
- Positive outlook and friendly, team-orientated attitude
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun!
Schedule:
- Thursday - Saturday, 8am - 6pm or Sunday - Wednesday, 8am - 7pm
